The next-generation UV print and cut series features new printheads, expanded Orange and Red ink options, and single-pass multi-layer printing.
Roland DG has launched the TrueVis MG2 Series UV printer and cutter range, comprising the MG2-640 and MG2-300 models. Designed to help print service providers target higher-value decorative and functional print applications, the series combines faster production speeds, expanded colour gamut options, and reduced running costs within an integrated print-and-cut platform.
Powered by newly developed printhead technology and updated waveform control, the MG2 Series delivers approximately twice the productivity of the preceding MG range. The platform supports single-pass multi-layer printing across up to five layers simultaneously, stacking combinations of CMYK, White, and Gloss inks. This enables operators to output textured, embossed, and backlit graphics without reverse-feeding media, supported by an integrated take-up unit for continuous unattended production.
Colour options have been expanded with optional Orange and Red inks alongside CMYK, White, and Gloss, broadening Pantone spot-colour matching. The devices incorporate Variable Dot Technology, True Rich Color settings, and 72 built-in texture libraries for specialised finishes. Integrated contour cutting is supplemented by compatibility with external Summa and Graphtec cutting devices.
To reduce operational costs, the series adopts 1,000ml ink pouches, automated media setup, and an automatic fabric wiper to simplify routine maintenance. The machinery operates via VersaWorks 7 RIP software and connects to the Roland DG Connect monitoring platform.
