Dataline announces acquisition of Italy’s VG7

Dataline has acquired Italian software developer VG7, adding a cloud-native Print ERP platform to its corporate portfolio

Dataline has announced the acquisition of VG7, an Italian software developer specialising in cloud-native Print ERP and integrated e-commerce solutions for the graphic arts sector. Revealed at FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona, the transaction marks Dataline’s first structural entry into the Italian market and expands its existing software architecture into fully cloud-hosted administrative workflows.

VG7’s software platform is currently utilised by more than 300 print, sign, and large-format printing (LFP) businesses across Italy. The system is designed to combine administrative management, production tracking, and web-to-print storefronts within a single cloud environment. Unlike highly technical legacy MIS platforms, the software has established its market position based on an intuitive user interface and rapid deployment times, making it accessible to businesses with limited internal IT resources.

Following the acquisition, the company will establish a regional branch operating as Dataline Italia, while the acquired software application will be repositioned for broader European distribution under the international name VG Seven. The corporate integration will bring more than 20 Italian software and implementation specialists into the wider Dataline group, which currently serves clients across 28 European countries.

Dirk Deroo, CEO of Dataline, said, “VG Seven combines in-depth ERP functionality with an attractive user interface. That is exceptional in our sector. The software therefore deserves a larger market than Italy alone. Just as Ferrari and Lamborghini were not made to be driven only in Italy, we also want to roll out VG Seven across the European market. At the same time, this acquisition opens the door to Italy for Dataline, where we also want to further accelerate the automation of graphic companies with MultiPress, Unik and DigiFlex.”

The acquisition coincides with ongoing structural shifts in the European print sector. According to recent industry surveys, including the FESPA Print Census, print service providers face acute skilled labor shortages alongside rising material costs. These pressures have increased the necessity for highly automated business software that integrates seamlessly with web-to-print channels, reducing manual touchpoints from order entry to dispatch.

For existing VG7 users, local support and product development will remain continuous. The existing Italian management and engineering teams will stay in place, gaining access to Dataline’s broader corporate infrastructure, ISO 9001 quality management workflows, and ongoing investments in artificial intelligence and CIP4 connectivity.

Mario Cunsolo, CEO of VG7, added, “With Dataline, we gain greater European momentum to grow VG Seven internationally. Their professional organisation with ISO 9001 certification, investments in artificial intelligence and in-depth expertise in the graphic industry as a CIP4 member make Dataline the ideal partner to further expand our technology.”

Dataline will demonstrate the expanded capabilities of the VG Seven platform alongside its established MultiPress MIS suite on Stand E35 in Hall 2 at FESPA.
