William Smith Group 1832 launches its Switch on to VION campaign, offering free sample kits and 10-metre trial rolls to UK sign and graphics installers.
William Smith Group 1832 has launched its ‘Switch on to VION’ campaign, an initiative designed to introduce its proprietary brand of vinyl films to sign and graphics installers across the UK. Originally developed and exclusively distributed by the company since 2014, the VION portfolio includes digital print films split across five distinct product lines, VP1, VP3, VP5, VP7 and V-Wrap Pro.

The core component of the campaign is the Switch Kit, a complimentary starter pack that provides commercial wrappers and installers with physical product samples, technical literature and branded merchandise. Crucially, the kit includes a full 10-metre trial roll of material, allowing businesses to test the vinyl on a live project. The pack is aimed at vehicle wrappers and sign makers who are interested in diversifying their material choices but remain hesitant to purchase unfamiliar media brands without prior field evaluation.
According to the distributor, the material range has established a solid operational track record over the last decade, supported by competitive trade pricing and a money-back satisfaction guarantee to eliminate the financial risk for companies transitioning from alternative media brands. The physical Switch Kit is delivered in a custom black box containing an A5 sample wallet, product literature, application magnets and a media-mark tool, with the 10-metre trial roll shipped alongside.

Lindsay Hutchinson, Head of Marketing at William Smith Group 1832, said, ‘VION has been part of our business for over a decade and the products have earned their reputation through the people using them every day. The Switch Kit takes the risk out of that first try entirely’.
As part of the roll-out, the company is inviting participants to showcase their completed vinyl installation projects on social media platforms using a dedicated campaign hashtag. Hutchinson concluded, ‘Once an installer tries these products, the results do the talking. We want to make sure as many people as possible get that opportunity’.
The free trial kits are now available for trade professionals to request directly from the distributor’s online platform.
