Sun Chemical will present its latest innovations for metal packaging under the theme “Metal Packaging Transformed” at METPACK 2026 in Germany.
Sun Chemical has announced it will present its latest innovations for metal packaging at the upcoming METPACK 2026 exhibition. Taking place from 5th to 8th May in Essen, Germany, the ink manufacturer will exhibit in Hall 3 on Stand 3A39. Under the theme “Metal Packaging Transformed”, the company will demonstrate how its comprehensive portfolio of materials and services supports metal packaging manufacturers.

The Sun Chemical stand will feature its well-established metal decorating product families. These include SunDuo for two-piece cans, SunTrio for three-piece cans, and SunAltec for aluminium tubes and monobloc aerosols.
A major highlight of the exhibition will be the newly launched, patent-pending SunDuo Mashu inks. These formaldehyde-free inks offer beverage can manufacturers a solution to improve industrial hygiene and increase safety in use. Sun Chemical notes that this product underscores its commitment to go “Beyond Compliance” by offering solutions that anticipate future regulatory requirements, helping manufacturers future-proof their packaging.
The company will also present UV and UV LED ink technologies for three-piece cans. These solutions allow producers to reduce their carbon footprint by transitioning from traditional gas oven curing to lower-carbon curing processes. Digital UV and UV LED inks will be demonstrated for a variety of applications, highlighting the possibilities for digital metal decoration, short production runs, and fast design cycles.
Furthermore, visitors will see world-class ink management software that integrates seamlessly with colour management solutions, including metal-specific PantoneLIVE libraries. The stand will also feature digital colour management tools aligned with ISO 12647-9 methodologies.
In a live demonstration, Sun Chemical will collaborate with Canjet and CMA to showcase a digital proofing solution capable of producing standard cans comparable to those generated through traditional printing processes.
Eduardo Alegria, Director, Global Champion, Metal Deco at Sun Chemical, comments on the upcoming show.
