Pubblicità & Stampa adopt Kavalan PVC free banner materials to drive sustainable wide format printing across the Italian market.
Rising demand for sustainable display graphics across the Italian print market has prompted a major inventory transition at wide format specialist Pubblicità & Stampa. The company have adopted Kavalan PVC free banner materials across their regional and national supply networks to phase out traditional eco hazardous substrates.

Operating from a 3,000 square metre production facility in Modugno, the 21 strong production team have integrated the non PVC alternatives into their point of sale, retail display and outdoor signage workflows. The transition expands a broader national growth strategy that recently saw the firm scale their large format digital printing capabilities into commercial hubs including Milan and Rome. The new material selection features the Sunlight TAICHI and Sunlight Weldable ranges, supplied by industrial distributor Polyedra.
CEO and Digital Printing Manager at Pubblicità & Stampa, Beppe De Bartolo, said, ‘The market is quite sensitive to these issues. The key difference lies in performance. For example, on larger surfaces such as metal or wooden panels, the PVC free materials respond better to temperature changes, whether hot or cold. There is already a wide range of materials available, offering improvements not only in terms of environmental impact, but also in terms of colour consistency and the final look and feel of the product.’
The replacement materials are designed to eliminate the release of toxic emissions during landfill disposal or incineration. They carry official Life Cycle Assessment accreditation to verify their carbon reduction performance compared to standard PVC banners. The technical composition also allows for specific applications, such as opaque black back configurations that block rear light transmission on architectural installations.
Head of Marketing at Kavalan, Nova Abbott, added, ‘It’s fantastic to see companies such as Pubblicità & Stampa leading the sustainability drive away from harmful PVC banner materials and towards more sustainable choices. As a result, the benefits of these alternatives are becoming more widely recognised across the entire Italian market, and the path to a more sustainable future for the print industry is clear to see.’
