Kavalan announces upcoming collaboration with Serilon, Brazil’s largest visual communication distributor, to supply PVC-free banner materials
Kavalan utilised the recent FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona to formalise a strategic partnership with Serilon, marking a significant geographic expansion of its international distribution network into South America. The two organisations signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the opening day of the exhibition, setting out a collaborative framework to increase the commercial availability and adoption of PVC-free wide-format materials throughout Brazil.
As the largest distributor of equipment and media for the visual communication and signage sectors in Brazil, Serilon is positioning the alliance to satisfy rising regional demand from brands and print service providers for verifiable, low-environmental-impact marketing materials. The upcoming integration of Kavalan substrates into Serilon’s national logistics network aims to provide local print rooms with direct, scalable access to high-performance alternatives to traditional plastics.
The Kavalan material portfolio is anchored by high-definition, water-based coating technologies rather than standard chemistry sets. The range comprises a series of specialised substrates, including lightweight coated media engineered for internal and external hanging banners, a high-opacity brilliant white material optimized for back-lit retail boxes, a double-sided block-out block textile, a high-tensile mesh banner line, and a durable coated wall covering system. All materials are certified as phthalate-free and flame-retardant, meeting international structural safety compliance for public events, retail environments, and trade exhibitions.
From an environmental and operational standpoint, the manufacturer’s PVC-free line-up offers distinct advantages over conventional vinyl and heavy textile media. The substrates are up to 45% lighter than their PVC counterparts, which lowers distribution emissions and simplifies handling during large-scale installation processes. Backed by comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) certifications, the range is engineered to facilitate clean, responsible end-of-life disposal and energy-recovery options rather than contributing to long-term landfill waste.

Nova Abbott, Head of Marketing at Kavalan, said, “Real change happens with collective action across the entire supply chain from suppliers and distributors to printers, brands, and creatives. Another key element is accessibility and making it easier for businesses to choose PVC-free materials. That’s why we are proud to celebrate our forthcoming collaboration with Serilon in Brazil.”
The signing of the agreement on Stand A135 in Hall 3 formed part of a highly active week for Kavalan in Spain, where the brand also celebrated international print applications through its second annual Green Leader Awards. Commercial delivery timelines and product stocking frameworks for the Brazilian territory will be finalised as the teams complete post-show evaluations.
