HP DesignJet T1600 and T2600 Plus Edition printers feature AI scan-to-vectorise capabilities and direct cloud integration
HP has expanded its wide-format printing portfolio with the launch of the HP DesignJet T1600 Plus Edition and the HP DesignJet T2600 MFP Plus Edition Build Connected printer series. Released on 22 June 2026, the systems are engineered specifically for architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) companies to address the operational disconnect between rapid digital design updates in the office and static paper plans used on the jobsite.
The core development in this new lineup is the structural integration of the T2600 multifunction printer with the HP Build Workspace cloud environment. This setup allows decentralised project teams to scan, share, and manage technical schematics within a single cloud platform. To prevent construction errors caused by outdated site documents, the printers incorporate a QR-linked version control system. This utility permits on-site workers to scan a physical drawing and immediately verify that it matches the latest digital revision before building works commence.
For pre-press drafting efficiency, the series introduces an artificial intelligence-enabled scan-to-vectorise function. This tool automatically converts scanned raster drawings directly into editable CAD files, which can reduce manual redrafting times by up to 80 per cent during project revisions. Both hardware units are built for high-volume corporate environments, outputting up to 180 D-size technical plans per hour. The systems also include dual-roll media capabilities on selected specifications, integrated automatic print stacking for up to 100 sheets, and the Adobe PDF Print Engine to process complex layers accurately.
Because modern AEC operations involve sensitive infrastructure data distributed across multiple networks, the hardware is supplied with built-in HP Wolf Pro Security. This security suite combines firmware validation and secure boot protocols with corporate encryption standards, including TLS 1.3 and IPsec. Daily file preparation is managed via updated HP Click software, which includes enhanced preflight previews to identify potential layout errors before committing to a print run.
