Buko Infra Support adopts Roland DG LG-540

Buko Infra Support enhances its production of European road safety signage by adopting Roland DG TrueVIS UV-LED printing technology and Roland DG Connect

Buko Infra Support, the traffic management sign company, has moved away from traditional solvent-based workflows to adopt Roland DG UV-LED printing technology. This transition was driven by the need for increased speed and precision in producing traffic management infrastructure, such as road signs for construction zones and high-speed routes.

The company previously relied on solvent systems and cutting printers, which became restrictive as expansion accelerated. To meet rising demand, Buko implemented the Roland DG TrueVIS LG-540 UV printer/cutter. The LG-540 allows for direct printing onto various substrates, including aluminium composite panels and reflective films, delivering weather-resistant graphics up to 1,440 dpi without requiring lamination.

Using EUV5 inks, the printer combines CMYK, White, and Gloss options to create highly legible reflective surfaces that meet road-signage visibility standards. Following the success of this installation, Buko is now preparing to upgrade to the larger LG-640 model, which features a 1.6-metre print width. This expansion will increase the company’s portfolio to 17 Roland DG printers.

To manage this fleet, Buko has implemented Roland DG Connect. This cloud-based platform provides real-time monitoring and data on device utilisation and ink consumption. The team uses these insights to optimise workflow scheduling and reduce unproductive setup time.

Matthijs Beelen, Projectlead IT at Buko Infrasupport, explains the decision, saying, “Traffic signage is a critical part of infrastructure. We needed a solution that could match our growth ambitions, increase efficiency, and maintain the durability our customers expect. The LG-540 has transformed our workflow; we can print directly onto reflective media with perfect opacity and durability, saving both time and material.”

Discussing the software integration, Mr Beelen adds, “The ability to see live printer performance data is a game-changer. It helps us plan proactively, prevent downtime, and stay in control of operating costs. Roland DG has given us the tools to scale confidently. The combination of advanced hardware, intelligent software, and dependable support means we can deliver the quality and speed our customers expect.”
