William Smith takes Cheetah colour PPF on the road

William Smith will host three hands-on Cheetah colour-change PPF training workshops in Barnard Castle, Bristol, and Glasgow this November.

William Smith will host three Cheetah Pit Stop events in November to educate installers on colour-change paint protection film (PPF) following the launch of the Cheetah range in September. Each event includes seminars, live demonstrations, and a practical session, and will run in morning and afternoon sessions to accommodate workshop schedules.

  • Barnard Castle, Thursday 5 November
  • Bristol, Thursday 12 November
  • Glasgow, Thursday 26 November

Every session is practical and engaging, with installers getting the film in their own hands rather than watching from the back of the room. Colour change PPF represents a new category for many UK installers, and the format gives attendees the chance to learn the material properly, under supervision, before committing it to customer work.

Expertise on hand at every session

The William Smith team will lead each event, with Training and Application Manager John Raine and PPF specialist Kris Owen heading up proceedings, supported by the regional External Account Managers. Tom Hogarth of Fellers, the American supplier behind the range, will join them to help lead the Bristol event. That gives attendees access to both product expertise and local market knowledge.

As Kris Owen puts it, “Installers need to work with a dry apply film before they can properly evaluate it. These sessions are about education first, giving installers that opportunity in a controlled environment with technical support available throughout.”

A range built for installers

The Cheetah range extends to 63 colours and finishes, each built on a 200 micron TPU construction that shields factory paint from stone chips, scratches and road debris while changing the appearance of the vehicle. A patent-pending dry-apply system with built-in air release channels reduces installation time compared with traditional wet-apply colour PPF, an important consideration for workshops operating to tight turnaround schedules.

“Cheetah PCC has been designed with installers in mind, for those looking to offer their customers something different. It combines the colour-change possibilities of a wrap with the added benefits of PPF, including a high-gloss finish, stain protection and self-healing properties,” explains Tom Hogarth.

Booking information

Capacity at each venue is limited to two sessions, and William Smith is advising installers to book early, particularly those travelling from outside the immediate region.

“Colour change PPF is a fast-emerging market in the UK, and it’s a great opportunity for installers who get to know it early. As with any new material, a little time spent learning to work with it pays off when it comes to customer work. These events give installers that head start, so they can offer Cheetah with confidence when the work comes in,” Kris Owen concludes.
