Kongsberg and Parksons celebrate 25-year partnership

Indian carton giant Parksons Packaging has marked 25 years of partnership with Kongsberg PCS after installing India’s first digital sample table in 2001.

Indian folding carton specialist Parksons Packaging and digital finishing manufacturer Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (PCS) are celebrating 25 years of working together. The partnership dates back to 2001, when Parksons became the first packaging converter in India to install a digital cutting table, using the technology to speed up sample turnaround and prototype development.

Founded in 1996, Parksons has grown into one of the country’s largest packaging producers, supplying folding cartons, liquid packaging, and rigid boxes to pharmaceutical, healthcare, and FMCG brands. Over the past two and a half decades, the company has expanded its digital finishing fleet across its national manufacturing network, now running eight Kongsberg cutting tables across eight separate sites.

Chairman of Parksons Packaging, Ramesh Kejriwal, commented, “Our vision in 2001 was clear: to build India’s finest folding carton printing and packaging company, supported by world-class technology and infrastructure. Since bringing the first Kongsberg sample-making table to India, we have worked together to help raise the standards of packaging development across the market and cater to the different needs of brand owners.”

Kejriwal added, “Kongsberg PCS’s innovation and reliability have played an important role in our growth, and we greatly value the partnership, trust and friendship built over the years. I look forward to continuing this successful journey together.”

Digital sample-making tables have since become standard across the Indian folding carton trade, helping packaging developers test structural designs, check creasing profiles, and approve mock-ups before committing to volume die tooling. Kongsberg PCS representatives recently presented the Parksons team with a commemorative award to mark the quarter-century milestone.

Vice President EMEA and APAC at Kongsberg PCS, David Preskett, added, “Parksons Packaging recognised the potential of digital cutting technology at a time when it was still relatively unknown in the Indian market. Over 25 years, our relationship has developed through a shared focus on innovation and excellence. Our technology is only one part of this story. The service, technical expertise and close collaboration from our local team has also been central to the longevity of the partnership.”
