swissQprint celebrated the range of applications the Kudu flatbed and Karibu 2 roll-to-roll printers offer
swissQprint utilised FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona to demonstrate how print service providers can improve production efficiency and diversify their output through high-value applications. The Swiss manufacturer focused its exhibition presence on addressing real-world commercial pressures, using live hardware demonstrations to show how structured application growth can help businesses stand out in competitive regional markets.

The centrepiece of the stand consisted of live production runs on the high-end Kudu flatbed printer and the Karibu 2 dedicated roll-to-roll press. Both machine platforms produced a combination of standard commercial graphics alongside high-margin, value-added outputs. These specialised applications included high-visibility neon prints, colour-changing optical effects, and multi-layered tactile finishes, reflecting a wider European trend towards close-view, textured retail displays and corporate graphics.
Carmen Eicher, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at swissQprint, said, “Our customers look for versatility in applications, but also for reliable performance and investment security. That’s exactly what we focus on.”
The company emphasised its manufacturing structure as a core driver of operational uptime. All printing systems are designed, engineered, and built entirely at the corporate headquarters in Switzerland, integrating the mechanical, electronic, software, and ink development teams within a single facility. The equipment is built for extended operational lifespans, and company data indicates that the vast majority of systems installed globally remain in active commercial use after more than ten years on the print room floor.
To counter rising overheads and unpredictable running costs, the hardware incorporates low-maintenance mechanical engineering alongside a 36-month factory warranty, which sits well above standard industry timelines. This long-term reliability was backed up by regional users at the show. Carla Bonini, CEO of Spanish print specialist Base 3, noted that the technology provides the necessary operational quality and production peace of mind required to manage busy commercial contracts.
The modular architecture of the printer range allows print shops to scale hardware capabilities in line with business growth. The systems feature up to ten freely configurable colour channels, which can be retrofitted over time to include white backing layers, spot varnishes, or fluorescent neon formulations. This approach ensures that expanding sign shops and industrial print operations can adjust their existing machinery to meet changing consumer demands without the capital expense of purchasing entirely new printing platforms.
Throughout the four-day event, visitor engagement was supported by a dedicated physical gallery of diverse print samples, which served as a focal point for in depth technical discussions.
