Antalis acquires German custom packaging manufacturer Speidel Verpackungen to expand its bespoke protective packaging network across Europe.
Antalis has strengthened its presence within the European packaging sector following the acquisition of Speidel Verpackungen, a German manufacturer specialising in custom-made protective packaging solutions. The transaction reinforces the group’s strategic focus on expanding its bespoke packaging capabilities, which represent a primary growth driver for the wider distribution business.

Founded in 1981, Speidel Verpackungen is headquartered in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, where it employs a workforce of 60 people. The company generated nearly €17 million in revenue in 2025 by delivering tailored protective packaging across demanding industrial sectors, including medical technology, mechanical engineering, metalworking and automotive manufacturing.
The German firm has built a reputation for engineering bespoke protective designs, predominantly using corrugated and heavy-duty corrugated board combined with structural wood and foam materials. Over its 45-year history, the business has focused on consultative technical advice and close customer collaboration to solve complex transit protection challenges for heavy machinery and sensitive industrial components.
Chief Executive Officer of Antalis, Hervé Poncin, said, ‘We are delighted to welcome the team of Speidel Verpackungen to Antalis. Their extensive expertise in bespoke packaging perfectly complements our Packaging organisation and will strengthen our customer offering.’
Managing Director of Speidel Verpackungen, Rainer Speidel, added, ‘Joining Antalis is a fantastic opportunity for our company. As part of a leading global group in the Packaging industry, we will have the resources and network to accelerate our growth, invest in new technologies, and bring our innovative, sustainable packaging solutions to a wider audience.’
The integration of Speidel Verpackungen aligns with Antalis’ broader strategy to scale up its specialised industrial packaging division across continental Europe. By combining Speidel’s custom design and manufacturing capabilities with Antalis’ international supply chain and distribution network, the group aims to offer comprehensive, high-performance packaging solutions to an expanding global client base.
