Spandex partners with Nathan Edwards Racing

The collaboration will see Nathan Edwards Racing showcase AUTO Drift digital print wrap technology on live TV.

Spandex has announced a new partnership with racing driver Nathan Edwards for the 2026 season. Competing in the MINI CHALLENGE JCW Championship, a primary support series for the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), Edwards will compete in a car wrapped in AUTO Drift, a digital print film developed through a collaboration between Spandex and ORAFOL.

The partnership follows a successful 2025 campaign for Edwards, who secured four race wins and nine podiums. The 2026 season provides a significant platform for AUTO Drift, with races broadcast live on ITV4 and average event attendances exceeding 30,000 spectators. The series offers Spandex a professional environment to showcase the material’s durability and visual impact to a large automotive audience.

The race car was wrapped by Vinyl Detail, utilizing AUTO Drift’s ProSlide technology. This feature allows installers to reposition graphics during application, ensuring precise alignment of complex livery designs before final adhesion. For motorsport teams, this capability is particularly beneficial for making rapid repairs and refinements between sessions throughout a demanding seven-round season.

Luke Odell, Automotive Development Manager at Spandex UK, said, “AUTO Drift was created to support installers when precision, efficiency and finish really matter. Motorsport is a perfect proving ground because the pressures are real and the standards are unforgiving. Partnering with Nathan Edwards Racing allows us to demonstrate AUTO Drift in an environment where repositionability, reliability and speed are essential.”

Nathan Edwards added, “In our environment, where speed and efficiency are everything, it allows Vinyl Detail to make quick changes across a race weekend. It has given our installers the confidence to accurately align graphics, enabling a more complex livery that brings our 2026 design to life and delivers real visibility for our partners on track.”

The season officially begins at Donington Park, with further rounds at iconic UK circuits including Brands Hatch, Silverstone, and Snetterton. Throughout the year, members of the Spandex Approved Installer Network will be invited to events to see the material’s performance in a competitive setting.
