Roland DG launch the latest model of its renowned TrueVIS series eco-solvent inkjet printer/cutter, the XG-640.

“The new XG-640 is our fastest printer/cutter ever, combining the overwhelming high image quality and versatile expressive power of the TrueVIS series with our pioneering print/cut technology.” said Ryugo Nimura, President, Global Sales and Marketing Division. “It not only creates eye-catching sign graphics, but also enables the seamless, automated production of a wide variety of uniquely shaped applications, including stickers, labels, and apparel decorations. It provides your business with increased efficiency and a strong competitive edge.”

The XG-640 employs newly designed dual staggered print heads that eject finer ink droplets at higher densities. The new high-speed data control technology maximizes performance, achieving productivity of 15.2 m2/h in standard mode for 8-colour PVC and 22.5 m2/h in standard mode for 4-color PVC.

GBL-free TR3 ink powers the XG-640 to deliver rich, vivid colour in a wide colour gamut, with up to 8 colours in a choice of ink configurations. White ink printing is 3 times faster and 1.3 times denser than the VG3, delivering improved opacity for window graphics and base coats.

The XG-640 is packed with additional productivity features for efficient, high-quality output, including automatic media set-up and take-up systems to ensure fast and stable throughput, a 7-inch colour LCD touch-screen control panel, automated pinch rollers, perforated sheet cutting, a media gap adjustment function, and self-maintenance features.

Roland DG’s latest RIP software, VersaWorks 7 is included with the XG-640. Additionally, the XG-640 is compatible with Roland DG Connect, a comprehensive platform for users to streamline their workflow and manage print operation.

Nimura said, “The XG-640 is a printer that not only delivers outstanding print and cut output, but also offers superb productivity, efficient and user-friendly operation, maximum versatility and high profitability for owners, making it ideal for sign and graphics professionals. It is especially suitable for users who require quick turnaround for a wide variety of output. Roland DG will continue to provide best-in-class products and services for the sign and graphics market, to empower the creativity and business possibilities of our customers.”
