Scodix confirms first global sale of its Ultra 7000 SHD dedicated rigid and corrugated embellishment solution
Scodix used the recent FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona to announce the landmark first sale of its new Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD press. Purchased by Italian printing house Simeoni Arti Grafiche, the transaction was facilitated through Scodix’s regional distribution partner, Heidelberg Italy. The deal marks the commercial debut of a B1-format system developed specifically to apply high-definition tactile embellishments directly to heavy-duty rigid and corrugated substrates.
Simeoni Arti Grafiche is an established user of digital finishing technology, having integrated its first Scodix production press nearly a decade ago. The acquisition of the Ultra 7000 SHD establishes a second, standalone digital embellishment solution at the company’s facility in Verona, structured to drive regional growth in short-run luxury packaging, point-of-sale displays, and premium exhibition signage.
Under the leadership of founder and CEO Silvano Simeoni, the business will focus the new hardware’s capabilities on the “premiumisation” of dense materials up to 4mm thick, including aluminium composites, alongside acrylics, Forex, and heavy foam boards. While the press is mechanically engineered to handle corrugated packaging boards up to 4.5mm in height, Simeoni’s primary objective is to eliminate the costly analogue tooling and screen-printing dies historically required to apply tactile textures and foil accents to structural display panels.
Silvano Simeoni, Founder and CEO of Simeoni Arti Grafiche, said, “Our relationship with Scodix began nearly ten years ago, and our first machine is still a vital part of our print offering today. Choosing to add a second Scodix press, the new Ultra 7000 SHD, is a clear statement of our trust in Scodix’s category-defining technology. While we see the new press’s potential in corrugated, our true passion lies in the transformation of rigid and textured materials. Our new press will allow us to offer our customers a level of tactile sophistication and visual impact on heavy-duty substrates that simply didn’t exist in the digital realm until now.”
The hardware platform utilises Scodix’s Smart High Definition technology, allowing operators to jet up to seven combined polymer-based formulations in a single pass. This capability supports fine details down to 4-point text and precise multi-layer registration for foil, spot varnishes, metallic highlights, and braille effects. Operating at speeds up to 780 B1 boards per hour for rigid media, the press coordinates with an automated digital workflow designed to match the agility of standard large-format flatbed inkjet printers.
Eli Grinberg, Scodix CEO and co-founder, added, “There is no greater compliment than a long-term partner, like Simeoni Arti Grafiche, returning to us for their next phase of growth. We are thrilled that Silvano and his team are the first to adopt the new Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD. By bringing Scodix’s technology to rigid substrates, we are empowering printers to enter high-margin markets that were previously unreachable.”
The sale strengthens the commercial partnership between Scodix and Heidelberg Italy, who has managed regional distribution and technical maintenance for the Ultra series since 2013. The transaction formed part of a highly active week for the manufacturer at the dedicated FESPA Corrugated zone, where the equipment ran daily live demonstrations to showcase foil adhesion and textured finishes across diverse industrial sheet media.
