Dataline acquires Workflower software to strengthen MultiPress

After 5 years of close collaboration Dataline announces the acquisition of the Workflower software and all associated assets.

Workflower is the software product of Jos Dechamps, who, after a long career at Agfa-Gevaert, founded his own company together with Tom Vermassen as CEO. The Workflower software specialises in production optimisation of print work, with a strong focus on imposition and (shape) nesting for optimal utilisation of print forms.

Dataline and Workflower have been working closely together for over five years. Certain components of the Workflower technology today form the basis of successful modules within the MultiPress solution, for both small and large format production.

“Over the years, Dataline and I have built together the development and commercialisation of the Workflower solution,” says Jos Dechamps. “Now it is time to let this unique technology grow further in the expert hands of Dataline. Many MultiPress customers use it daily. Their future wishes and expansions are now on Dataline’s roadmap.”

MultiPress offers one of the most comprehensive functionalities on the market for print production companies: from CRM, calculation, and e-commerce to order management, planning, logistics, invoicing, and reporting. Thanks to more than 80 integrations with external hardware and software solutions for the graphic industry, processes such as production, logistics, and administration can be extensively automated.

Dataline is also investing heavily in prepress and production optimisation. For example, Check & Repair Pro was recently launched, a powerful feature that allows order managers to check and correct print files at an early stage. In the same vein, the integrated Workflower software enables administrative staff to send print optimisations directly from MultiPress to production, without additional prepress intervention.

These innovations help print companies to shorten lead times, avoid errors, reduce staff pressure, and limit material waste.

“We continue to invest in the added value of MultiPress, so that our customers throughout Europe have the most advanced workflow solutions today and tomorrow,” says Dirk Deroo, CEO of Dataline. “We thank Jos Dechamps for his unique contribution and look forward to further evolving the Workflower technology as an essential part of our platform.”
