UK-based paper and material supplier, Premier, has announced the opening of a new stock-holding branch based in Wellingborough.

Premier, who has long promoted their nationwide network of stock-holding branches and sales offices, have recently moved operations from their Northampton branch to a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Stanton Cross, Wellingborough.

Servicing the local area with a fleet of 9 vehicles, Premier’s new premises features a 45,000-square-foot warehouse that has a capacity of over 4,000 pallets, with dedicated stocks of wide format rolls, display sheet media and commodity paper grades.

Chris Stanyon, Premier’s Operations Director comments, “The new Wellingborough site is a significant investment and demonstrates Premier’s commitment to the future. Not only does it improve and enhance our ability to service customers both locally and around the UK, it has also created several local job opportunities.”

Premier’s Wellingborough site will also host a Schelling FK6 plastic, and composite panel saw, a Cauhe GH 366 heavy-duty guillotine and a wall-mounted Streibig Saw. Further enhancing Premier’s ability to facilitate customer orders, cutting products such as Plexiglas, Foamalux, ACM, Marlon FSX and many more to customer requirements, all from a centralised location.

Stanyon continues, “The new branch also has state of the art meeting facilities and electric car charging points, which, given the site’s proximity to major road networks, means that it will become a hub for some of Premier’s commercial activity.”

The new site is located close to the M1, A45 and A14, and is part of a £1 billion development for Northamptonshire that will see 3,650 new homes and community facilities, it will provide more than 1.5m sq ft of logistics, leisure, retail and office space, delivering around 3,000 new jobs.

The acquisition of this new branch is the latest in a number of significant investments for Premier that are aimed at improving and enhancing the merchant’s service offering to customers around the UK; in 2021 Premier also opened a new branch in Haydock, servicing the North West of the country and recently expanded their operations in Glasgow.
