QPS extends ColorJet Range with new Vulcan Hybrid 1800

Quality Print Services launches ColorJet Vulcan Hybrid 1800 compact 1.8m UV printer featuring GREENGUARD Gold certified inks.

Quality Print Services (QPS) has expanded its product portfolio with the introduction of the Vulcan Hybrid 1800, a new-generation UV hybrid printer from manufacturer ColorJet. QPS, which serves as the official UK distributor for ColorJet’s UV flatbed and soft signage systems, is making the machine available to address the growing market demand for compact, multi-substrate production tools.

The Vulcan Hybrid 1800 is engineered with a maximum print width of 1.8 metres and utilises an advanced conveyor belt feeding system. This configuration allows the machine to achieve smooth, stable transport when switching between flexible roll media and lightweight rigid boards up to 20mm thick. In its high-production, three-row CMYK mode, the printer can reach output speeds of up to 45 square metres per hour, making it suitable for print service providers looking to scale up their output.

To assist operators during long production runs, the machine includes several integrated safety and monitoring features. These include an ink level sensor that provides advance alerts before supplies are depleted, alongside on-board anti-crash sensors to protect the printheads and anti-static bars to maintain drop placement accuracy on challenging plastics.

Chris Bailey, Managing Director of QPS, said, “We’re delighted to introduce another first-class ColorJet printer to our existing portfolio. It’s the perfect solution for print service providers seeking a compact UV hybrid printer that combines maximum flexibility with speed and high-quality output. With the addition of the Vulcan Hybrid 1800, we now offer one of the widest ranges of UV printers in the UK.”

Environmental compliance is also a core aspect of the new model. The Vulcan Hybrid 1800 uses UV-curable inks that carry GREENGUARD Gold Certification. This certification ensures the output meets strict criteria for low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, allowing the finished print applications to be safely installed in sensitive indoor environments, including schools, corporate offices, and healthcare facilities.

By introducing this 1.8-metre hybrid model, QPS aims to provide commercial print rooms with an affordable route to diversify their application range, spanning from traditional outdoor banners to short-run rigid packaging and point-of-sale displays.
