Astley Signs awarded EcoVadis Bronze

The EcoVadis rating assesses Astley Signs’ business sustainability commitments and performance

Astley Signs announce that they have achieved their bronze medal from EcoVadis, a global leader in business sustainability assessments. This result places Astley among the top 35% percent of global companies assessed by EcoVadis in the past 12 months.

“Astley is incredibly proud to have received the EcoVadis Bronze medal, which is a recognition of our commitment to making sustainability a core part of our business,” said James Mavi, Sales & Marketing Director at Astley.

The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. More than 130,000 companies globally have been rated by EcoVadis.

Astley is a UK manufacturer and has amassed a wealth of expertise in creating branded environments, supporting leading brands in various sectors, from retail and hospitality to FMCG and leisure.

Earlier this year, Astley was also one of the first signmakers in the UK to publish their Net Zero Roadmap, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to sustainability.

By prioritising ESG initiatives, Astley aims to lead by example and demonstrate that businesses can thrive while working sustainably.

“Sustainability is more than just looking at our environmental factors, but also it’s about how we treat our staff and supply partners, and how we can continue working sustainably to ensure we have a healthy business that supports local recruitment,” Mavi commented.

Astley Apprentices
Astley continues to provide apprenticeship schemes and develop the next generation of signage professionals

Astley believes in adhering to its social responsibilities and involves its employees, suppliers, and the wider community in its endeavours to improve these aspects. Astley continues to provide apprenticeship schemes and develop the next generation of signage professionals, having introduced 12 apprentices to their team within the past five years.

The EcoVadis accreditation offers additional reassurance to Astley’s clients, knowing that they are working with a recognised sustainable partner in the sector, both environmentally and socially.

EcoVadis’ business sustainability ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard. The ratings provide an evidence-based analysis on performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.
