‘Xanita Print’ ideal environmentally responsible material for Net Zero Festival ’24

A variety of displays and signage at the Net Zero Festival 2024 were created by Antalis’ customer Onward Display using Xanita Print

Onward Display used its know-how on environmentally responsible display materials, selecting Xanita Print from Antalis as their substrate of choice.

XANITA PRINT AT NET ZERO FESTIVAL 24

Creative large format printer Onward Display is located inside London’s Business Design Centre (BDC) where the Net Zero Festival was held. The event was “designed to inspire action, connect peers, showcase solutions, and provide advice on how best to execute net zero strategies”. Xanita’s strong sustainability credentials, therefore, aligned perfectly with the event’s goals.

The Xanita Print range is a 100% re-pulpable engineered, closed-cell fibreboard manufactured with a corrugated kraft core made of recycledpost-consumer Kraft boxes. In addition to being environmentally friendly, Xanita is lightweight and far superior to honeycomb boards, making it the ideal solution for various decorative and structural applications, including POS, shop-fit, and exhibition design. Structures made from lightweight Xanita can also be flat-packed, making them easy to transport and reuse.

Using artwork provided by the client, Onward Display produced a variety of attractive signage and wayfinding for visitors, as well as stage backdrops, a press wall and three-dimensional lettering that greeted visitors at the entrance to the exhibition hall.

Onward Display Project Manager Callum Lagden commented: “As soon as we showed the client Xanita, they immediately liked it, and it fitted their budget. From a production perspective, Xanita is easy to use: it’s easy to cut with our CNC machine; it’s possible to produce a wide range of applications from a single sheet; and it produces a high-quality print finish directly to its FSC-certified fresh fibre outer liners.”

The venue, BDC, can become very humid; however, the Xanita boards remained sturdy and rigid throughout the two-day festival.

Specification Consultant at Antalis, Claire White, comments: “Onward Display’s work for the festival was a perfect showcase not only of the company’s skills and talent, but of Xanita’s outstanding properties as a display material and of how its sustainability credentials can support the transition to net zero.”
