Sign Trade Supplies (STS) has announced the introduction of Wood Grain Aluminium and Special Texture Coatings to their extensive range of finishing options. This addition caters to the growing demand for unique signage in various industries, offering a perfect blend of authenticity and visual appeal. The new coatings will be showcased and demonstrated at Sign & Digital UK from 25th to 27th February.

The new Wood Grain Aluminium and Special Texture Coatings deliver high-quality aesthetic effects while eliminating the need for vinyl overlay to create texture. The coating also provides excellent durability and UV resistance.

Wood grain aluminium and special texture coatings have become increasingly popular, providing a versatile solution suitable for a wide range of applications, from retail signage to countryside displays. These special effects impart authenticity and a powerful visual appeal for those seeking a distinctive and memorable identity.

“When it comes to sign-making, providing customers with eye-catching options at a cost-effective price is critical. Our new range of textured coatings delivers a solution that was only previously possible by specialist hand-crafting, which is expensive and time-consuming.  With our Wood Grain Aluminium and Special Texture Coatings, STS has made these finishing options more affordable without compromising on quality,” says Garrick Dartnell, head of marketing at Sign Trade Supplies.

“Our cutting-edge coating technology makes it easy for sign-makers to add special effects like wood grain, marble, or stone to aluminium profiles. This opens up exciting design possibilities for signage and architectural projects,” explains Garrick.

The coating application process involves applying a corrosion-resistant base coat followed by the use of a strong vacuum system to apply a printed design. The profile then undergoes baking in an industrial oven, resulting in a finish that convincingly mimics natural materials, such as wood.

“The outcome not only achieves the aesthetic appeal of authentic materials but also ensures the durability and uniformity characteristic of aluminium profiles. This offers a versatile and long-lasting solution for businesses looking to make a lasting impression,” adds Garrick.

In addition to the new offerings, STS continues to provide a comprehensive range of finishing options, including Mill Finish for a natural, industrial look; Anodising for enhanced durability; Aluminium Powder Coating for versatility in colours and finishes; and Aluminium Wet Spray Coating for a liquid protective layer.
