William Smith is now supplying the new generation of Avery Dennison paint protection film, launching this month in both gloss and matte finishes with up to a 10-year warranty.
William Smith is now supplying the ADfend Pro Series, the new generation of paint protection film (PPF) from Avery Dennison. Launching this month, the series comprises two finishes, ADfend Pro Gloss and ADfend Pro Matte, and will replace several of Avery Dennison’s existing PPF products as they are phased out. Both films are backed by a warranty of up to ten years.

Installation time is a crucial factor in the profitability of any PPF job. Avery Dennison has developed ADfend Pro from a new thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) formulation that offers high conformability and faster adhesion build, allowing experienced installers to increase their installation speed once the application technique is mastered. However, installers are advised to allow time to become familiar with the film’s handling characteristics on their first applications.
Lindsay Hutchinson, Head of Marketing at William Smith Group 1832, comments: “Demand for paint protection continues to grow, and our customers are looking for films that help them complete jobs efficiently without compromising on finish. ADfend Pro delivers on both counts, and once installers are familiar with the film, the time savings make a real difference across a busy schedule.”
For vehicle owners, both films feature a new hydrophobic top coat that delivers strong stain resistance and water repellency, making routine cleaning and maintenance considerably easier. Heat-activated recovery allows superficial everyday scratches to disappear, while high optical clarity preserves the appearance of the paintwork beneath. Furthermore, the ADfend Pro Matte gives vehicle owners the option of a matte finish over their existing paint. Protecting original paintwork helps preserve a vehicle’s resale value and reduces the likelihood of costly refinishing work later in its life.
Hutchinson adds: “The benefits are just as clear for the end customer. Easier cleaning, recovery from light scratches and a warranty of up to 10 years give installers a compelling proposition to put in front of vehicle owners.”
Currently supplied in new premium black packaging, Avery Dennison plans to expand the series with additional finishes and thicknesses over the coming months.
Hutchinson concludes: “ADfend Pro marks the beginning of a new chapter for Avery Dennison’s paint protection offering. With further finishes and thicknesses in development, we look forward to bringing each addition to our customers as it becomes available, helping them develop their protection business with a range they can depend on.”
