The signage industry welcomed the new event, The Sign Awards, with open arms. Attendees and sponsors hailed the inaugural event an overwhelming success.

The brand new contest saw over 100 submissions to 11 categories, with the winners revealed at a glittering gala dinner on March 22nd at Birmingham Town Hall.

The organisers have said that following discussion with partners and entrants, the competition will be expanded to include a number of wrap focussed categories for the 2024 edition.

The aptly named Sign & Wrap Awards will see 5 new categories added, covering individually printed vehicle wraps of both traditional vehicles and those more out of the ordinary, fleet work, full-colour changes and architectural film projects.

Dan Tyler, who founded the awards, commented, “We’ve been absolutely blown away by the response from the industry to our inaugural event. The energy inside the room on the night was incredible and having just about caught up on sleep now, we’re excited to do it all again!”

Discussing the expansion, he said,

“We added a printed vehicle wrap to sister event, the UK Graphic Awards, last year, collaborating with the guys at Amari ADAPT to do so. It proved incredibly popular. Having looked at the make-up of the entrants at both events, we’ve decided it makes sense to bring the wrap community together to celebrate their achievements with the signmakers, since there’s a lot of crossover there, and we can’t wait to see them at the 2024 Sign & Wrap Awards”

The event will return to Birmingham for it’s 2024 edition, with a date to be announced later this year.
