Sam Armstrong shortlisted for ‘Industry Champion’ at The Sign Awards

Make it Happen Signage Consultancy also celebrating 7 years in business this month
Sam Armstrong, founder of Make it Happen, celebrating 7 years for the business

On the 27th of February, Make it Happen will celebrate seven years of Making it Happen for the sign and print industry. As a provider of product sales, workshops, and consultancy services, it has built a reputation for helping business owners and individuals to enhance the services they offer to clients and further supporting the skill sets of their staff.

Offering a unique resource to the sign and print industry, the company was born from a desire to bridge gaps in knowledge. Founder Sam Armstrong reflects, “I noticed the same questions were repeatedly being asked, it made me realise there was a need for dedicated training. I also sensed that people would benefit from more hand-holding when sourcing trade products. So, after 16 years of working in the signage industry, I decided to take the leap and form my own company.”

In 2016 Make it Happen’s first workshop, the Education Programme (now The Signage Bootcamp), was born and followed by On the Frontline in 2020. The two programmes have since inspired over 3000 delegates with new ideas and products. Today many routinely send their new recruits to the company to improve the speed at which their workforce develops. Last year, the company added a new string to its bow with the addition of The Sustainability Bootcamp. Sam Armstrong comments, “I’m still listening to the industry and creating more ways to Make it Happen for the clients we support. I love my job and my amazing team because we all share the same drive and passion to ‘be the difference.’ Seven years may be unlucky for some, but not for us! When we celebrate our achievements and birthday at the end of February, preparations will be well underway to unroll even more developments into 2023!”

With the news that Sam had been shortlisted for the industry champion award at the upcoming UK Sign Awards this March, the year had already started on a high before thoughts of birthday festivities were even afoot. With many of the company’s peers and clients shortlisted for awards this year, the event is set to be a massive celebration of the UK’s sign industry and the people who are making it happen!
