Oriel Studios heads back to school with Drytac ReTac Textures

Liverpool based Oriel Studios chose ReTac Textures from Drytac for wall graphics for a recently merged boys’ and girls’ school.

Oriel Studios offers a wide range of print, design, signage and display services, from small format print up to large-scale signage and wall graphics. A recent project saw it work with a local school, Merchant Taylors’, which is merging its boys’ and girls’ premises onto one site. The school was seeking to mark the event with interior graphics, tasking Oriel Studios with producing a centrepiece installation celebrating the history of both schools.

Oriel Studios managed the entire project from start to finish, choosing Drytac’s ReTac Textures Linen for the job.

ReTac Textures is a polymeric self-adhesive vinyl with a permanently peelable adhesive backing, meaning it can be repositioned during installation and easily removed, even years later. Available in sand, linen and canvas finishes, the product is compatible with eco-solvent, latex/resin and UV printers.

“We went with this product after doing a bit of product testing as we felt it gave the right finish to its surroundings and, with it being a school, the textured finish would be longer lasting against the bumps and scrapes of school life,” said Jake Wilson, Sales and Marketing Manager at Oriel Studios.

The ReTac Textures media was supplied by Premier, Drytac’s exclusive partner in the UK and Ireland for all wide format print media. Oriel Studios used its HP Latex 800W to print the graphics in-house, before its expert team headed to the school to complete the installation in April 2025.

“We had no issues from production or installation,” Jake said. “The product was great to install, and we were able to finish ahead of schedule.

“The feedback from the customer has been fantastic. The project was kept under wraps to give everyone in the school a surprise when they came back from half-term, and we are still getting messages on emails and social media about how much people love the wall!”
