Mutoh launches XpertJet 1681SR Pro in Europe

Mutoh launches the XpertJet 1681SR Pro in Europe, a 64-inch eco-solvent printer featuring an eight-colour MS51 ink set with orange and red

Mutoh Europe has announced the European launch of the XpertJet 1681SR Pro, a 1.62-metre wide eco-solvent roll-to-roll printer engineered for professional sign and display makers. The platform is designed to provide commercial print rooms with a reliable method for producing high-impact indoor and outdoor graphics, combining color accuracy with stable, long-run production.

At the core of the machine is the AccuFine HD Pro printhead, a single piezo system featuring 3,200 nozzles distributed across eight channels. Working in tandem with Mutoh’s i-screen EX print control technology, the system optimizes ink droplet placement to deliver smooth gradients and solid blocks of color, whilst reducing the risk of banding during fast print modes.

For the European market, the XpertJet 1681SR Pro is supplied with Mutoh’s genuine MS51 eco-solvent inks in an eight-colour configuration: CMYK, Light Cyan, Light Magenta, Orange, and Red. The inclusion of Orange and Red inks expands the printable colour gamut in the warm spectrum, allowing print providers to reproduce challenging brand colours and vibrant corporate logos with higher accuracy. The light inks complement this by refining tonal transitions and minimizing graininess, which is particularly beneficial for close-view retail signage and vehicle wraps.

Daniel Morassut, General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Mutoh Europe, said, “With the XpertJet 1681SR Pro and the MS51 8-colour ink set including Orange and Red, we are offering European signmakers a practical route to expanded colour capabilities and smooth gradation, supported by relevant low-VOC credentials for indoor-focused applications.”

The MS51 ink set carries environmental credentials, making it suitable for indoor graphics in sensitive public spaces. The inks are GBL-free, carry no CLP/GHS hazard pictograms, and have achieved UL GREENGUARD Gold certification. Additionally, they comply with major European low-emission standards, including AgBB in Germany, A+ in France, and M1 in Finland.

To maximize uptime and reduce manual adjustments, the printer incorporates several Mutoh automation systems. These include DropMaster 2 for automatic bi-directional alignment, Feed Master for media feed adjustments, and Nozzle Area Select, which detects and compensates for missing nozzles during a run. The printer delivers output speeds of up to 17 square metres per hour in production mode and features a flat-type front dryer to ensure rapid ink drying before take-up.

The XpertJet 1681SR Pro is supplied as standard with ONYX RIPCenter software to manage daily file preparation and print queues. The printer is now available across Europe through Mutoh’s authorized reseller network.
