Norfolk signmaker MultiSigns Ltd has installed a Vivid VeloBlade Nexus digital cutting system from Soyang Europe to bring finishing in-house.
MultiSigns Ltd has brought its digital finishing capabilities in-house following the installation of a Vivid VeloBlade Nexus digital cutting system from distributor Soyang Europe. Operating from its specialist facility in Thetford, Norfolk, the graphics and signage provider made the investment to meet growing customer demand for cut-to-shape signage, bespoke display products, and dimensional lettering.
Manufactured by Vivid Laminating Technologies and supplied through Soyang Europe, the VeloBlade Nexus features a multi-tool head housing a drag knife, crease wheel, v-cut knife, oscillating knife, and optional CNC router. The system processes a wide array of rigid and flexible substrates, including corrugated board, foam PVC, MDF, acrylic, and Dibond composite panels across three core bed sizes up to 3,000mm x 1,600mm.
Co-owners at MultiSigns Ltd, Mitch Day and Jim Pryer, commented, “We selected the machine because it offered the flexibility and precision we were looking for, while also fitting the needs of our business both now and in the future. The ability to produce a wide range of custom-shaped products in-house made it an attractive investment and one that aligns with our plans for continued growth.”
Pryer added, “The impact has been immediate. Previously, much of this type of work was outsourced, but bringing production in-house has proved far more cost-effective and has given us greater control over quality and scheduling. It has also significantly reduced turnaround times, enabling us to respond more quickly to customer requests and take on projects that may not have been practical before.”
By eliminating its reliance on external finishing subcontractors, the business has achieved significant cost savings while gaining direct operational control over job scheduling and product quality. The company now plans to explore direct-to-board digital printing technology to complement the cutter’s capabilities and further streamline its end-to-end production workflow.
