Moss acquire Sign Up Systems

The acquisition integrates patented graphic extrusion and tensioning technology into Moss’ global live events division

The UK live events sector has seen further consolidation after graphics and structural installation group Moss acquired the patented extrusion and tensioning systems developer Sign Up Systems. The transaction builds on a 15 year trade relationship between the two entities and aims to scale up the production of high performance branded environments across Europe and the United States.

Following the completion of the deal, Sign Up Systems founder Jon Bromhead will retire from the business. The remaining senior management and production staff will transition into the regional group structure, reporting directly to Moss UK Managing Director Michael Green.

Green said, ‘Having worked alongside Jon and the team for the past 15 years, we have been constantly impressed with the company’s inventive, solution-focused ethos. Their deep knowledge of live events and structural applications has seen the development of extrusions that meet the rigorous demands of the sector, for example fast installation and durability in demanding environments.’

The acquired business will rebrand under the Moss identity but will continue to manufacture from its existing Nottinghamshire facility to maintain client continuity. The regional site houses extensive in house print and fabrication machinery, including two 5 metre UV printers, a 3.2 metre hybrid UV printer, two 3.2 metre dye sublimation systems and a 3.2 metre digital cutting bed. The plant also contains dedicated aluminium cutting, CNC routing, rolling and specialized welding lines.

Sign Up Systems have previously engineered structural frameworks and tensioned fabric graphics for prominent outdoor events, including the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Farnborough International Airshow, alongside commercial activations for consumer brands such as Chanel and Jaguar Land Rover.

Project Manager at Sign Up Systems, Harry Smith, said, ‘We’re delighted to be joining the Moss team. Their global reach and ambition make them the perfect home for our future, and we’re excited about what can be achieved together.’

The parent organisation operate globally as a division of the US based Vomela group, running production facilities across the UK, Germany, Poland, Spain and the United States.

President of Moss, Jason Popp, added, ‘We aim to be the leading global specialist production partner for branded experiences, and the addition of the talented Sign Up Systems team and their solutions help advance that strategy. Their patented extrusions and tensioning systems are a perfect fit for our growing outdoor capabilities and add to the products and services we can provide to our global client base.’
