The CE8000 is ideal for a range of cut-vinyl applications, including vehicle number plates. Delivering fast, sharp, and accurate cutting, the Graphtec CE8000 fits seamlessly into the domed resin production process.

Doming, which involves coating graphics with a clear polyurethane resin, gives products a premium, glossy, 3D look while protecting them from scratches, fading, and UV damage.

“The Graphtec CE8000 is an excellent choice for cut-vinyl doming applications,” says Andy Huxley, Technical Director at Liquid Lens. “Precision and repeatability are crucial when producing gel characters for vehicle number plates. We have rigorously tested the CE8000 in-house to ensure it delivers the best all-around solution for our customers.”

For “print & cut” applications, the Graphtec’s embedded “Advanced Registration Mark Sensing” (ARMS) system ensures precision by automatically detecting registration marks and correcting any misalignment. “That means even the most intricate shapes are cut with pinpoint accuracy,” adds Andy.

The CE8000 also features continuous cutting by using barcode data management to detect the “Start Mark” of each new barcode. This allows different designs to be cut sequentially without stopping, streamlining the print-and-cut process, especially when working with roll media.

Tom Kneale, Managing Director of Graphtec GB, adds, “We have worked with Liquid Lens for many years and are delighted they have chosen the CE8000 for this important application. They are market leaders in doming because of the quality of their solutions, particularly their unique resin. The vehicle number plate application is one that is growing rapidly, and the Graphtec CE8000 is absolutely perfect for it.”

Andy explains, “Working with Graphtec GB is very straightforward and productive. As well as providing great products, their service is first-class, and they are always available for advice and guidance during installations and or ongoing maintenance.”

The Graphtec CE8000 is built for speed (up to 1000mm per second) and stability, keeping the cutting and feeding process smooth and consistent. It comes with wireless connectivity, so you can set it up and connect it to other devices without dealing with a tangle of cables. This feature makes it easier to keep things running smoothly in larger operations.

“The CE8000 is built for speed and precision,” concludes Tom Kneale. “We’re really excited to see Liquid Lens take doming to the next level with this technology, especially for vehicle number plates.”
