KGK Genix raises £24,000 for local hospice

KGK Genix has supported its Charity of the Year, St Clare Hospice, with both fundraising and print materials

KGK Genix has concluded a year of fundraising for its Charity of the Year, St Clare Hospice, raising more than £24,000 in support of the local cause. Throughout the year, employees from across the business participated in a range of activities intended to support the hospice and increase awareness of the services it provides to the community.

As well as raising financial contributions, the partnership helped highlight the realities of hospice care and the importance of charitable funding. St Clare Hospice relies heavily on community support, as the organisation is only partially funded by statutory sources.

Lucy Woodington, fundraising manager at St Clare Hospice, expressed her gratitude for the support. “Thank you to KGK Genix for their generous support over the year. We are only 26 percent funded, so initiatives like this are incredibly important to our hospice. We need more companies like KGK Genix stepping up and making a real difference,” she said.

In addition to the financial total, KGK Genix supported the hospice with print materials for various events throughout the year. This practical contribution allowed the company to gain a deeper understanding of the logistics involved in charitable event planning and coordination.

Colette Cooper, marketing director at KGK Genix, reflected on the impact of the programme on the internal team. “We have had a great year fundraising with the team. Not only have we raised an incredible amount of money, but we have also seen team members shine through in roles they would never normally do. As a leadership team, it has been an amazing experience to see even junior members get involved with the planning and coordination of events. We are very proud of what the team has achieved together,” she said.

The company noted that aligning behind a single Charity of the Year provided a strong platform for employee engagement and community connection. It allowed for consistent messaging and a more meaningful partnership than ad-hoc donations.

Tamsin Shattock, project manager at KGK Genix, added, “We had the pleasure of not only working with St Clare on their fundraising activities, but also contributing to their print materials for events throughout the year. This has given us fantastic insight into the world of charities and fundraising events, and a much deeper appreciation of the work involved.”

KGK Genix intends to continue its commitment to community initiatives and supporting causes that provide a tangible difference both locally and beyond.
