China Print Supplies brings new products to the UK Print Market

When Scott Clutton, an experienced engineer in the print industry, found some impressive printing equipment from China, he saw an opportunity to shake up the UK market and formed China Print Supplies.

After years of working for various print companies, Scott developed a keen eye for quality and performance. So, he decided to get involved when he discovered manufacturers in China producing machines that rival the top brands at a lower cost.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of some of the equipment I saw coming out of China,” Scott explains. “There was still a lot of subpar stuff, but I found a few manufacturers doing things well.”

One of those manufacturers was Sinocolor, with whom Scott has now secured an exclusive distribution deal for the UK.

Partnering with a marketing-savvy business partner, Steve Klein, Scott launched their new venture, China Print Supplies (CPS). Their initial product lineup includes a small flatbed printer, as well as a larger 8x4ft flatbed that can be configured with up to 8 print heads – all at a lower price point than the competition.

“The key is finding that balance of performance and value,” says Scott. “Many people assume they have to stick with the big-name brands, but we can offer machines that are just as good, if not better, for a much better price.”

Scott’s engineering background means he’s well-equipped to advise customers on the right machine for their needs. “I know the competitor products inside out, so I can honestly assess how our equipment stacks up. Even if someone doesn’t buy from us, I’m happy to provide that guidance.”

With their first sale already under their belt and two demo units ready to go, CPS has got off to a great start. Scott is also exploring the possibility of offering alternative inks and aftermarket services to support his customers further.

He concludes, “It’s an exciting time. We’re a new player, but we have the experience and equipment to challenge the status quo. I’m looking forward to getting out there and showing printers what we can do.”
