A photowall created by paper artist Nathan Ward, using Xanita board from Antalis, provided the backdrop to many famous faces at the FT’s annual party

Antalis supplied Xanita Kraft fibreboard to London-based paper artist Nathan Ward who has produced paper installations for the likes of Fortnum & Mason, Mount Street Printers and the ENO.
The 3660mm long by 2300mm high photowall was made entirely from Xanita board, covered in copies of the iconic pink paper. Taking inspiration from the FT’s Japanese ownership, and continuing the pink theme, Nathan also used Xanita to craft ‘cherry tree branches’ that extend from the sides of the wall and are covered with delicate, three-dimensional pink paper flowers.
Nathan explains how Xanita really came into its own when he was creating the branches: “I love how easy Xanita is to work with. I was able to create the three-dimensional tree-branch structure in my studio using nothing more than a scalpel.”
For previous installations, Nathan would use plywood and foam board to create the non-paper, structural components of his installations – products that were heavy and cumbersome or lacked the environmental credentials. In choosing Xanita, Nathan can both fulfil his environmental goals and manoeuvre Xanita without the need to hire help as it’s light weight which also helps to keep transport costs low.
Xanita is a reusable and recyclable fibreboard with a part-recycled core. Lightweight and strong, it is ideal for eco-friendly decorative and structural applications such as POS, shop-fits and exhibitions.
