YPIP at the Print Show

The Young People In Print (‘YPIP’) team will be at The Print Show leading vital conversations on the future of talent in the print industry.

With skills gaps widening and competition for emerging talent increasing, the industry faces significant challenges in attracting and retaining young people. YPIP exists to address this head-on, helping companies across the entire print supply chain understand how to engage, support and develop the next generation of skilled professionals.

At the show, Elizabeth Bowerman and members of the YPIP team will be on hand to speak with print businesses about practical ways to get involved, from education system outreach and student engagement, to mentoring schemes, work experience opportunities and early-career pathways.

Notably, two groups of students will attend The Print Show as part of guided tours organised by YPIP, giving them first-hand exposure to the dynamic world of print and the diverse careers it offers. In addition, a representative from the UK Government Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Strategic Relationships Team will also visit, exploring how government can better support the sector’s workforce development needs.

Elizabeth Bowerman commented, “The print industry has so much to offer, yet many young people simply aren’t aware of the opportunities available. Our role is to help companies build strong talent pipelines and to give young people the inspiration and support they need to thrive. Collaboration is key and The Print Show is the perfect place to start those conversations.”

YPIP invites all attendees to visit Stand P65 to discover how they can play a part in driving the future of print by investing in young talent.
