Wallaceprint.com doubles production with Liyu

Investment in Platinum KCXL Pro UV flatbed from Liyu England allows Wallaceprint.com to say ‘Yes’ to bigger and more complex requests

Founded over 40 years ago, Wallaceprint.com is a family-run large format printing specialist. The company has a 1,200sqm facility in Rochester in Kent, with 32 staff and an impressive range of design, printing and finishing equipment.

Wallaceprint.com works with a wide range of clients, including creative agencies and marketing teams, as well as directly with end users. CEO and Owner, Gary Wallace, explains, “Our core strengths lie in offering a full-service in-house solution. We can deliver everything our customers need, from creative concept through print production to finishing and installation. We have built a reputation for quality, speed, and versatility by delivering complex, time-sensitive projects without compromising on quality.”

The company has enjoyed a positive period of sustained year on year growth. In 2025, they saw a 50% increase in sales revenue in the first five months. “We are delighted with the growth so far this year and we put it down to three key factors. Loyal customers, latest technology and great employees,” says Gary.

He explains, “We have a very loyal customer base because we always pull out all the stops to ensure we never let them down, even for the most challenging briefs. We also have a strong track record of investing in cutting-edge technology so that we continually expand our service offering and we have a highly skilled, adaptable team who have shown again and again they are capable of managing and delivering projects from design right through to installation.” We run normal 18 hour production days and regularly adapt to 24/7 printing, including long weekend production where required, to meet these demands.

“This year’s surge in revenue is a result of repeat work from long-standing clients and an increase in complex projects that have required a faster turnaround. We’re getting more done, more quickly and this creates its own demands on our people and our technology.”

More capability and greater capacity

While growth has been a major driver in Wallaceprint.com’s need to invest in new equipment, the selection of the Liyu Platinum KCXL Pro UV flatbed printer and Liyu XL Q-Cut digital flatbed cutter is as much about increased capability as it is about capacity. Gary explains, “Customers are not just asking for more work, they are asking for more and more complex projects and we never want to say no in those circumstances. We are getting a lot more large format, short-run bespoke work, where quality and speed are paramount.”

He adds, “The new Liyu printer and cutter together allow us to print oversized panels and displays fast and then cut and finish them with greater accuracy and flexibility. This means we can take on bigger and more ambitious projects, such as large exhibition stands, retail rollouts and custom POS. The improved workflow also means we have reduced waste, improved efficiency, and almost doubled what we can produce in a single day.”

The 3m x 2m Liyu Platinum KCXL Pro has a host of features that make it the ideal powerhouse machine for Wallaceprint.com’s high-production environments. It also has excellent sustainability credentials, including Greenguard certification for its lower power consumption and inks. The machine works seamlessly with the Liyu XL Q-Cut digital flatbed cutter to create a powerful combination for a huge range of large format applications.

Gary says, “The new kit gives us the speed, accuracy, and capacity to meet demand without compromising quality. This means our people have more time to focus on creative and value-added tasks, thereby opening the door to new sectors where these capabilities are vital.”

Careful selection

“We have spent nearly two years planning for this expansion, and the choice of printer was a crucial part of this that we had to get right,” says Gary. “We reviewed lots of printers, testing them out and speaking to the manufacturers. We saw several at The Print Show in 2024 and felt that the Liyu Platinum KCXL Pro stood out as the best combination of performance, value, and scalability. Its oversized UV flatbed format and high-speed output allow us to handle jobs we previously couldn’t accommodate, while delivering an ultra-sharp finish across multiple substrates.”

He continues, “The Liyu Q-Cut digital cutter was . It matched its production speed and delivered the precision cutting and routing we need for complex shapes and thicker materials. This seamless print-to-cut integration is essential for reducing bottlenecks. This winning combination ensures the same high quality is maintained from the first stage of production through to final delivery.”

The final reason for choosing to work with Liyu England was the people. “I was impressed with the knowledge and attitude of the Liyu England team. They put our needs first in the way we do with our customers and I was very confident that they would support us well throughout what is sure to be a long and fruitful relationship.”

As expected, the installation was smooth and efficient. “Our team already had extensive experience with a variety of print and finishing technologies, so with Liyu England’s engineers working alongside us, we were fully operational within a few days. Training was comprehensive, and we were able to start taking on larger, more complex jobs almost immediately,” says Gary.

The machines have not been installed long, but Wallaceprint.com is very pleased with the performance so far. “The results have been exactly what we hoped for. Our production capacity has almost doubled, turnaround times have improved and our waste has been reduced. Most important of all, we have been able to say ‘Yes’ to projects that would previously have been beyond our scope,” he says.

Gary concludes, “We are delighted with our new machines and the support we have received from the Liyu England Team. The investment is already contributing to new client wins and helping us stay ahead of growing demand.”
