Roland DG has announced the addition of two new printers to its VersaSTUDIO series. The BN2-30 eco-solvent integrated printer/cutter with a maximum material width of 736 mm (30-inches), and the BD-12 UV direct-to-object printer for items up to A4 size. Vibrancy, detailed printing and work areas have been improved and expanded over current models.

The BN2-30 offers 1440 x 720 dpi print quality plus precision contour cutting to create graphics, photos, and text in any desired shape. With a maximum printing width of 736 mm, the printer can produce a wide variety of items, from original T-shirt graphic transfers, stickers and labels to posters and uniquely-shaped displays.

The BD-12 UV flatbed printer is capable of high-definition direct printing on a variety of objects and materials. It supports items up to A4 size and 102 mm in height. The machine can also print on cylindrical objects using the optional rotary axis. The EUV5 ink is compatible with numerous materials, from soft goods like fabric and leather to hard goods like wood and plastics. Glass and metal can also be printed on by using the primer ink. Additionally, a gloss ink option produces premium gloss or matte finishes and realistic textures, including 3D embossed effects. This printer can produce customised items like smartphone cases, giftware, sports memorabilia, fashion accessories and cosmetic products in full colour and with fine details.

Both the BN2-30 and BD-12 are equipped with print heads that produce high-definition output and offer multiple print modes ideal for different applications. These devices are designed to be easy to use. With only a power button on the printer, all other functions are performed with the included Utility software through easy-to-understand icons and intuitive, quick access to menu items. The printers come standard with FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO Edition software and VersaWorks 7, the latest output software with improved usability and support for both Windows and macOS. Roland DG claims that even those who have never used design and output software before can now easily create the items they desire.

Roland DG Connect, a connected platform that provides tools such as visualisation of operating status and easy profit calculation, is also available. It includes proactive support to help prevent errors.

With productivity features and software included, the BN2-30 and BD-12 are priced to be affordable for first-time users. A comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty and optional maintenance contract are also provided.

Ryugo Nimura, President of Global Sales and Marketing at Roland DG says, “The BN2-30 and BD-12 enable anyone, including entrepreneurs, companies bringing out-sourced production in-house, educational institutions committed to STEAM education practices, and even those who have never used printers before to unleash their creativity and easily produce a wide variety of items. We will continue to expand the VersaSTUDIO series to deliver innovative solutions that support people’s creative activities and business growth and encourage them to succeed in their new challenges.”
