swissQprint gives Kudu users a boost

The upgrade package includes software, firmware and hardware and offers a 12 per cent increase in speed

Customers of swissQprint’s high-end large format printer Kudu will get a 12 percent hike in production throughput thanks to an upgrade package. Early adopters are benefitting from improvements two years after the introduction of the Kudu.

The service is on offer to all 100 Kudu users with the model enhanced thanks to this year’s new state-of-the-art flatbed Generation 5, which delivers a top speed of 341 sqm per hour. The enhancement package includes software, firmware and hardware and enables the Kudu to keep up with the additional productivity demands.

swissQprint’s Kudu combines huge output alongside quality print production. The 3.2×2m machine incorporates up to 10 colour channels and is incredibly energy efficient. It is certified to ISO standard 20690 and consumes an average of 2.2 kilowatt-hours of electricity, the same as a normal kettle.

“We have always provided free software upgrades for all our customers across our printer ranges,” said Simon Averell, swissQprint UK Service Manager. “This new development for Kudu users will further improve their ability to turn work around faster combined with the high-quality printing they were already producing.”

Updates to existing Kudus include firmware. The new release incorporates optimisations of the carriage movement. Relating hardware improvements to the system help the machine cope with the increased speed.

“The upgrade package adds up to improved productivity and efficiency,” said Simon Averell. “Depending on the age of the machine, there is a sliding scale of updates, however the end game is the same: a 12 percent boost in speed for all our Kudu customers.”

Erskine Stewart, Managing Director of swissQprint UK, said, “Service is such an important part of what we do. The quality and productivity of our machines goes hand-in-hand with our commitment to all businesses that have invested in our products. Our ongoing support enables all users to grow their market with a reliable partner in swissQprint. The Kudu upgrade is the perfect example of how all customers can benefit from working with us.”
