The Swiss manufacturer of large format printers announces the construction of new premises in the USA.
SwissQprint‘s new facility will enhance its ability to serve its customers and showcase cutting-edge technology. This marks a significant step forward in the company’s growth in North America.

Kilian Hintermann, CEO of swissQprint, shared his enthusiasm about the project, saying, “We continue to see North America as a growth market. This new facility for our US subsidiary is a testament to our commitment to serving our North American customers even better.” swissQprint America is currently headquartered in Elgin, IL, providing sales and after-sales services, with an additional demo center located in Irvine, California.
The new facility will be situated on 3 acres (12 140 m²) within West Dundee, Illinois, strategically located closer to Chicago O’Hare airport than the current premises. Erik Norman, President of swissQprint America, explained, “The heart of the new facility is the expanded showroom to feature our large format printers and applications, along with increased capacity for our applications and service teams. All of this designed so that we can deliver exceptional support and experiences for our customers.”
The new building will span 24,780 ft² (2300 m²). Key features include a 4,757 ft² (440 m²) showroom and hospitality area, a dedicated training center for individual or group applications training, and 2,192 ft² (200 m²) dedicated to machine refurbishing and service. Also, the building will have significantly expanded warehouse and office space compared to the existing Elgin premises. Overall, the US team looks forward to a 130% increase in space.
Reflecting swissQprint’s commitment to environmental responsibility, approximately 400 solar panels are planned to be installed to supply power from renewable resources. Heitman Architects Inc. designed the building, and construction will be done by The DSI Group, both of Chicago, IL. swissQprint was represented by Bespoke Commercial Real Estate.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the new building took place on 9 July, 2025, and the facility is scheduled to be completed by mid 2026. The site provides an option to expand an additional 15,000 ft² (1394 m²) to accommodate future growth. While leaving the Elgin base, swissQprint America will keep the Californian demo center to cater to the Western States and Western Canada.
