Skandacor secures multiple FESPA show-floor sales

Skandacor reports multiple equipment sales driven by growing demand for in-house 3D UV embellishment and foiling systems

Skandacor has reported strong international hardware demand following the conclusion of the FESPA Global Print Expo 2026, which took place from 19 to 22 May at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via. The event served as a global meeting point for wide-format, textile, and speciality print providers, with Skandacor focusing its exhibition strategy on technologies that enable commercial print rooms to bring high-margin embellishment and finishing capabilities in-house.

Two primary machine platforms anchored the commercial discussions on the company’s stand: the FINISHpro 1623 3D digital embellishment system and the LAMpro Cheetah Photo laminating line. Both systems attracted consistent crowd engagement throughout the four-day event, culminating in multiple confirmed machine orders directly from the show floor to buyers spanning Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Australasia.

According to Skandacor, this purchasing activity reflects a structural shift among commercial printers who are actively seeking to reduce external trade outsourcing, protect eroding operational margins, and offer premium decorative applications without significantly expanding their factory floor footprint.

Jon Congdon, VP of Sales at Skandacor, said, “FESPA gave us the chance to have meaningful conversations with print providers from all over the world. What stood out most was how many customers were excited by the real production possibilities our technologies can open up. Print embellishment isn’t just about adding effects. It’s about helping print businesses create new products, solve customer challenges, and build new revenue streams.”

Technical interest throughout the week focused on Skandacor’s proprietary speciality finishes, notably its Raised 3D UV resin textures and the SLEEKpro system, which applies detailed foil accents and holographic effects onto digital prints. These multi-sensory embellishments are increasingly utilised in luxury packaging, point-of-sale displays, and short-run promotional products where tactile appeal directly influences consumer purchasing decisions.

The practical versatility of the hardware was highlighted by a specific contract secured during the exhibition. A speciality packaging supplier, searching for a reliable method to apply tactile effects onto premium bags and promotional materials, invested in the FINISHpro 1623 3D platform to handle the variable data and thick resin coatings required for personalised packaging runs.

Congdon noted that these direct problem-solving interactions validate the company’s focus on accessible, high-value finishing technology. The company departs Barcelona with an expanded international sales pipeline, indicating that despite broader economic pressures, commercial printers are continuing to invest in downstream finishing capabilities to differentiate their services.
