Roland DG updates TY-300 DTF printer with expanded ink capacity

Roland DG Corporation has announced a series of engineering and performance updates to the TY-300 Direct-to-Film (DTF) printer. Designed to support high-duty-cycle apparel production, the enhanced TY-300 introduces increased ink system capacity, improved white-ink stability, and workflow optimisations.

A central update is the doubling of the white-ink reservoir capacity. Since DTF printing requires continuous, high-density white ink for underbases, the expanded capacity reduces the frequency of replacement and maintains uninterrupted circulation. This improvement is designed to reduce idle time in multi-shift output environments.

The updated TY-300 maintains print speeds of up to 10.9 m²/h in standard mode and 17.48 m²/h in high-speed mode. This performance is driven by a dual-printhead architecture and high-efficiency drying control, enabling stable CMYK + White layering. Advanced colour-management capabilities, including True Rich Color technology, provide broader gamut rendering and smoother gradients for complex apparel designs.

“DTF continues to evolve at remarkable speed, and we know our customers rely on stable, high-performance systems that can sustain heavy production workloads,” said Ryugo Nimura, Executive Officer, Global Sales and Marketing Division, Roland DG. “With the updated TY-300, we have enhanced core components that directly impact throughput, uptime and ink stability. These improvements ensure the TY-300 remains the benchmark for technical performance and production efficiency in the DTF category.”

Reliability has been strengthened through updates to the automatic maintenance system. Features include continuous ink circulation and scheduled head-refresh cycles to stabilise white-ink flow during idle periods, reducing the risk of clogging. The TY-300 integrates with VersaWorks RIP, certified DTF film and powders, and an optional shaker and dryer unit to automate the powder stage.

The printer uses Roland DG S-PG2 inks, which remain OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT certified, supporting compliance-driven apparel manufacturers. The updated TY-300 is available globally from January 7, 2026.
