With new regulations marking a shift towards sustainable large-format print material choices in the Baltic region, Kavalan has announced Sesoma Group as its new distribution partner

PVC-free wide-format materials brand, Kavalan, has announced a new distribution partnership with Sesoma Group, a supplier of large-format printing technology and materials in the Baltic region.
Sesoma Group, a division of Mutoh North Europe, comprises Rigas Sesoma SIA (Latvia), UAB Sesoma (Lithuania), and Sesoma OU (Estonia), and is a trusted partner to visual communication professionals, having delivered cutting-edge equipment and materials as well as technical support and consulting for over three decades.
The partnership with Kavalan demonstrates Sesoma Group’s commitment to driving innovation and progress, supporting the creative industries, and developing an environmentally friendly initiative across the Baltics. It also reflects the significant shift in awareness of the impact of large-format materials in the Baltic region more widely, following the news that Estonia capital Tallinn will ban PVC advertising in public spaces from January 1st, 2026.
Kavalan’s PVC-free portfolio includes Sunlight, a lightweight coated banner material suitable for indoor and outdoor applications; Moonlight, a brilliant white banner material ideal for lightboxes and other backlit applications; Butterfly, a double-sided block-out textile material; Spiderweb, a mesh banner material; and Gecko, a coated wall covering material. Kavalan’s banner range is compatible with UV, Latex and UVgel printers and is tear-resistant, flame-retardant and weldable, with the same flexibility and tensile strength as traditional PVC-based materials.
Sesoma Group had been aware of Kavalan’s PVC-free product portfolio for large-format print applications for some time, but the relationship really began at FESPA Berlin 2025 and the new partnership affirms this. Sustainability is a focus across all areas of Sesoma Group from sourcing energy-efficient large-format digital printers to offering eco-friendly printing materials, and Kavalan’s PVC-free materials align perfectly with this ethos.
“At Sesoma, sustainability is not just a trend, it’s a long-term commitment woven into every aspect of the business. As a leading provider of equipment and materials for visual communication professionals, Sesoma recognises its responsibility to promote environmentally conscious practices in an industry that’s rapidly evolving, and we actively support clients in reducing their environmental footprint.” says Lina Tunyliene, Marketing Manager of Baltic States for Sesoma. “That is why we regularly update our product portfolio to reflect the latest innovations in green technologies.”
Alvis Butans, Baltic States Area Director for Sesoma explains that there’s a growing awareness of sustainability in the Baltic region: “With growing consumer awareness and changing environmental regulations, clients are increasingly looking for ‘green’ solutions for environmental design and information dissemination. There is a rising demand for transparency, ethical sourcing, and low-impact production, especially in sectors like packaging and indoor advertising. EU-wide initiatives like the European Sustainability Reporting Standards and the Baltic 2030 Action Plan are also influencing national policies in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. As a result, the biggest producers are starting to involve sustainability in their core strategies, not just for compliance but to build brand loyalty.”
Recognising sustainability as a shared journey, Sesoma plans to develop more training programmes, consulting services, and knowledge-sharing platforms to support its customers in adopting greener workflows.
Rob Karpenko, Director of Sales Europe at Kavalan comments: “I’m honestly so excited that we’re bringing Kavalan to Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. I’ve got a real soft spot for the Baltic region and I truly believe Kavalan is going to bring some great sustainable changes here. It’s all about helping local businesses go greener and I can’t wait to see it happen.”
