Kavalan awards CMYUK for environmental savings in PVC-free materials

CMYUK has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by Kavalan in recognition of the environmental savings achieved through the sale of PVC-free materials during 2025.

CMYUK has announced that it has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by Kavalan. The manufacturer presented the certificate in recognition of the measurable environmental savings achieved through the sale of Kavalan PVC-free materials to customers during 2025.

CMYUK has received a Certificate of Appreciation from Kavalan for environmental savings in 2025.

The certificate highlights the collective sustainability impact generated through the continued promotion and distribution of Kavalan PVC-free wide format materials across the UK and Irish markets by CMYUK. According to the provided data, these efforts resulted in a 25,243 kg reduction in CO2 emissions alongside a 545,704 litre reduction in freshwater consumption. These figures represent the environmental benefit achieved by CMYUK customers who transitioned from traditional PVC materials to Kavalan PVC-free alternatives throughout the year.

Since 2020, CMYUK and TAYA have worked collaboratively to establish Kavalan in the UK and Ireland. The companies aim to combine material innovation with market expertise to support the adoption of PVC-free alternatives within the display and wide-format graphics sector. Kavalan states that its launch provided one of the first commercially viable PVC-free banner solutions capable of meeting professional performance and print quality standards.

This partnership-driven approach has enabled Kavalan to gain traction across the market. The brand supports print service providers and brands in making practical and lower-impact material choices. The collaboration was previously recognised last year when CMYUK received the Kavalan Green Leader Award at the FESPA Global Print Expo. This award acknowledged the initiative and consistent effort of CMYUK in promoting sustainable material innovation and driving measurable environmental change across the industry.

Michael Crook, Commercial Director of Materials at CMYUK, comments on the achievement. He states, “Since introducing Kavalan to the UK market, we have remained committed to championing viable PVC-free alternatives that deliver both performance and sustainability. The environmental savings demonstrated in this certificate show what is possible when materials innovation is matched by industry adoption.”

In related news, entries are now open for the Kavalan Green Leader Awards 2026. The awards programme celebrates creative and innovative applications using Kavalan PVC-free wide format materials. The competition recognises real-world print in signage projects, sustainability, and creative excellence across global markets. Print service providers who have completed a Kavalan project since March 2024 are eligible to enter via an online submission form.

Crook adds, “As Kavalan launches the 2026 Green Leader Awards, we are proud to support and promote the initiative, encouraging our customers to recognise and share the progress they are making towards lower carbon impact production.”

Kavalan will announce the winners live at the FESPA Global Print Expo in Barcelona this May.
