Fujifilm Acuity Prime for QPS Print to unlock growth opportunities

QPS Print invests in Fujifilm Acuity Prime to expand capacity and increase production speed

QPS Print has installed a Fujifilm Acuity Prime flatbed printer to take on a higher volume of work. Now in its 40th year, Stoke based QPS Print began as a screen-printing business before evolving into a full-service large format print provider.

The business offers an end-to-end service, from concept and design through to manufacture, dispatch and installation, and has a long-standing relationship with Fujifilm, having worked with the company since the start of Fujifilm’s digital print era.

“Along with other Fujifilm products, the Prime will be our fourth Fujifilm Acuity machine. We looked at a number of machines, but the confidence we’ve built over the years in Fujifilm’s products, service and support made it an easy decision to opt for the Acuity Prime,” said Jamie Copeland, Managing Director, QPS Print.

Installed early 2025, QPS Print have seen gains in speed and productivity from the Acuity Prime. Despite having the same bed size as previous machines, the improvement in performance has enabled QPS Print to take on longer print runs that were previously unfeasible.

Jamie added, “The additional throughput allows us to remain competitive and deliver on larger jobs that we could not do previously. The Acuity Prime has also helped us become more efficient in production – partly due to the efficiency of LED curing lamps compared to the previous less efficient ink curing system, reducing both energy costs and the need for ongoing lamp replacement.”

The printer uses Fujifilm’s Uvijet UV ink range, which is specially designed for the Acuity Prime. Jamie comments, “The vibrancy of colour is excellent along with increased ink coverage giving a great print finish onto all substrates”.

Andy Webb, Head of Inkjet and Packaging UK, at Fujifilm, comments, “We’re delighted to see QPS Print building on their long-standing relationship with Fujifilm by investing in the Acuity Prime. It’s a versatile, efficient and high-performing printer designed to meet the challenges of today’s large format market. We’re proud to support QPS Print as they expand their capabilities and take on exciting new opportunities.”

Jamie continues, “The investment in the latest machine allows us to expand our market and has given us new opportunities to go beyond local clients. We now have the capacity and are in a much stronger position to manage larger orders and service clients nationwide.”
