Huddersfield-based CV Graphics counts faster drying times, the ability to print with white ink and a more environmentally friendly service as key benefits of the new HP Latex 800W
Huddersfield-based signage and vehicle graphics business CV Graphics has praised the impact of its new HP Latex 800W, revealing how the printer has allowed the company to speed up print production and enhance its environmental offering to customers.

Founded in 1994, CV Graphics delivers a range of print, sign-making and vehicle graphics services. The company has a varied customer base, working with clients across markets such as retail, professional sports, and manufacturing and service.
With such a diversified offering, CV Graphics is committed to keeping its production machinery up to date to ensure it delivers high-quality work to clients. This approach ultimately led the company to invest in the HP Latex 800W, with its previous printer from a different manufacturer having reached a point where repairs were becoming too frequent and costly.
Having looked at several options, CV Graphics identified the HP Latex 800W as the most effective solution for the business moving forward, taking delivery of the device from approved HP dealer Granthams GT in April this year. Office Manager Stephanie Hudson Strzalko said the machine has not only ensured reliable production but also offered the company a host of other benefits.
“We needed a new machine capable of printing white, and the new Latex printer allows us to do just this,” Stephanie said. “We were also impressed with the fast drying times on the machine, as well as how it would help us save money on consumables.
“Add in how the HP Latex 800W offered greater environmental benefits, and we were really keen to take it on.”
As is the case with all HP Latex printers, the new machine at CV Graphics runs water-based HP Latex inks , which have far less impact on the environment than solvent, eco-solvent and UV inks. On top of this, inks are supplied in paper-based cartridges, which are fully recyclable after use.
In terms of the actual printer, the HP Latex 800W offers a top printing speed of 36sq m/hr in outdoor mode and can run media up to 1.63m wide. Additional benefits include the ability to print on a wide range of media, while white ink opens up even more options to users.

CV Graphics has mainly been using the machine to produce vehicle wraps, but such is the flexibility of the printer that Stephanie said the company plans to explore other areas and markets – with its environmental credentials to serve as a key selling point for the business.
“When printing denser colours on our older machine, the prints often took days to dry,” Stephanie said. “With the HP Latex 800W, prints now dry much faster, allowing us to turn work around quicker. On top of this, it allows us to offer a more cost-effective option to customers who do not want to pay for lamination on top of solvent prints.
“We can also now print longer lasting graphics on clear material. Prints from our previous UV machine tended to flake away over time, whereas with the new HP printer, we are getting a much better performance.”
