CMYUK unveils JWEI SG1625 automated finishing system

CMYUK launches the JWEI SG1625 Automated Feeder Stacker, offering pallet-to-pallet packaging finishing

CMYUK has introduced the JWEI SG1625 Automated Feeder Stacker to its Shrewsbury showroom, offering UK print and packaging businesses a highly automated finishing solution for £169,995. The system is designed to remove the “finishing bottleneck” often associated with short-run bespoke packaging, FSDUs, and promotional campaigns by providing a continuous, pallet-to-pallet workflow.

Traditional analogue finishing for short runs is frequently hampered by the time and cost of manufacturing dies and the manual set-up required for platen presses. The JWEI SG1625 bypasses these requirements through a digital feed–finish–stack process. Sheets are automatically lifted from a pallet, passed across a conveyorised flatbed for precision cutting and creasing, and then stacked ready for collection. Because the system operates concurrently, new sheets are fed into the front end while finished work is stacked at the rear, significantly reducing manual touchpoints.

A technical standout of the JWEI platform is its proprietary conveyor belt system. Unlike many flatbed cutters that require “tags” or “bridges” to hold pieces together—which must later be removed by hand—the JWEI approach maintains sheet stability throughout, enabling automatic waste separation without manual intervention. Furthermore, an underside “back scan” camera reads registration marks on the reverse of the sheet to ensure perfect alignment with printed artwork.

The financial impact of the system is already being seen at imageData Group, the first UK business to install the technology. Steve Williams, Chief Sales Officer at imageData Group, said: “It’s taken a labour-intensive process and made it virtually hands-free, so we’re saving about 80% of labour time to be able to produce the finished output. The JWEI provided industrial automation at scale and pace, which was critical when we needed to deliver to our clients’ schedules.”

The group, which recently invested in a high-speed EFI Nozomi 14000 SD single-pass inkjet press, required the JWEI system to ensure finishing could keep pace with its ramped-up print speeds. The installation has allowed the business to maintain dependable schedules during peak demand while reducing waste and labour costs.

Nick Reed, Finishing Business Manager at CMYUK, noted that the disruptive price point lowers the capital barrier for many businesses. Reed said: “What makes this structure so attractive is the speed of ROI. With significant savings on staff costs, plus workflow gains, this equipment pays for itself very quickly.”

To further facilitate investment, CMYUK is offering a tailored finance package, allowing customers to access the system with an initial deposit followed by fixed monthly payments. The JWEI SG1625 is now available for live demonstrations, providing a practical evaluation of how automated finishing can scale short-run packaging and POS production.
