China Print Supplies brings ThunderJet roll-to-roll UV printer to UK

The new ThunderJet AQ1800UV 1.8m roll-to-roll UV printer is designed for high resolution multi-layer printing at speed

China Print Supplies (CPS) announces the availability of ThunderJet AQ1800UV 1.8m roll-to-roll UV printer in the UK. This competitively priced, high-resolution, high-speed UV printer supports standard roll widths of up to 1.8 metres.

In less than a year, China Print Supplies has made its mark in a competitive marketplace with several printer installations. Scott Clutton, one of the directors at CPS, has many years of experience working with a broad range of wide-format printers and has used this knowledge to source, supply and support an impressive portfolio of high-quality, great-value machines.

The company has quickly built a strong reputation with the SinoColor range of flatbed and hybrid printers and were looking to complement the range with a UV roll-to-roll machine. Scott visited the APPP Expo in Shanghai and was impressed with the ThunderJet AQ1800UV. “This printer looked to have something special about it,” he says. “This is a high-resolution UV 1.8m roll-to-roll printer that delivers much more than its price tag would suggest. The superb build quality ensures stability, even through continuous operation, for excellent print results.”

The ThunderJet is designed for multi-layer printing on a range of substrates and comes with both white ink and a varnish option. It is equipped with four Epson i3200 printheads,  which deliver 720×1200 dpi prints at speeds of up to 58.5㎡/h.

“This machine is a fantastic option for lightboxes and other front and backlit prints,” he says. “For its price, the sheer print quality at speed of this machine is as good as anything in the market.”

The unique water-cooled print plate dissipates LED heat and keeps media flat, enabling printing on a wide range of materials without wrinkling. The Thunderjet AQ1800 UV features full white ink recirculation to prevent damaging sedimentation during downtime. This protects print heads and maintains consistent performance.

“The ThunderJet AQ1800UV perfectly complements our existing range of SinoColor UV printers, reinforcing our commitment to delivering the best solutions in every printing category.  This printer is a great solution for anyone looking for something more powerful than an entry-level UV roll-to-roll. For its price, there isn’t another printer that comes anywhere near the ThunderJet’s level of performance,” says Scott.

Priced at £29,995 + VAT fully installed, the ThunderJet comes with a 12-month gold warranty from CPS.

The Thunderjet AQ1800UV can be seen at China Print Supplies Telford showroom from the end of April 2025. Call 01952 370055 or email sales@ chinaprintsupplies.co.uk to arrange a demonstration.
