The Brampton Steelheads have upgraded their Field of Play advertising at the CAA Centre using print media from Drytac. The Ontario Hockey League club partnered with Rinkboards to produce new rink board graphics using Drytac Polar Premium RB90 removable print media paired with Interlam Pro Matte.

The Brampton Steelheads have upgraded their rink board graphics using Drytac materials.

To produce the 30″ x 96″ (762 mm x 2438 mm) dasher board advertisements, the Steelheads worked with Rinkboards, a business that forms part of the TC Intergraphics Decal and specialises in Field of Play marketing. The team noted that media width proved critical to the efficiency of the project. Using Polar Premium RB90 at a width of 62″ (1575 mm) and Interlam Pro Matte at 61″ (1549 mm) allowed the production team to output full-coverage graphics without panelling or material waste.

Another key requirement for the project was removability. Ice hockey is an aggressive and high-impact sport. Even with a strong protective laminate, pucks and sticks regularly strike the printed graphics during gameplay. Drytac states that using a printable media with a removable adhesive ensured that the venue team could replace damaged panels quickly without harming the surface of the dasher system. Furthermore, this feature allowed the club to handle seasonal or sponsor updates efficiently.

The arena environment also demanded a material that performs reliably in cold conditions. The manufacturer notes that the low application temperature of Polar Premium RB90, which operates down to -4˚F (-20˚C), made installation at the rink straightforward and dependable for the production team. Rinkboards printed the graphics on a digital commercial press to deliver sharp colour reproduction and brand consistency across all partner advertisements. Local installers from Rinkboards then completed the application process.

Gabriel Minichiello, Manager of Brand Partnerships and Business Development for the Brampton Steelheads, comments on the project. He says, “The finished graphics turned out great. The Polar Premium RB90 and Interlam Pro Matte gives us the clean look and durability we need, especially with our rink being used by the community on a daily basis. Working with a Brampton-based manufacturer makes the project even more meaningful. This is a great example of local companies supporting each other, and we’re excited to build a long-term partnership with Drytac.”
