Antalis adds Sun Strong GC2 Board to graphical portfolio

Antalis expands graphical board range with Sun Strong, a premium GC2 boxboard from Burgo designed for packaging, POS and display applications.

Antalis has confirmed the addition of Sun Strong, a premium GC2 boxboard produced by Burgo, to its large-format and packaging range. The new offering is intended to support printers and converters who require high-performance materials for cartons, graphical point-of-sale displays, and premium packaging projects.

Sun Strong is a coated GC2 folding boxboard manufactured from three layers of bleached virgin fibres. It features a Chemi-ThermoMechanical Pulp middle layer, which provides a balance of stiffness and flexibility. This specific structure ensures consistent performance during technical processes such as folding, die-cutting, and finishing.

The board is designed with a smooth, satin-finish surface and a double-coated top side, which Antalis states delivers reliable results for both offset and flexo printing. The reverse side remains uncoated, and the material is compatible with various surface treatments to meet specific premium packaging requirements.

Available in both sheet and reel formats, Sun Strong is supplied in weights ranging from 275 to 325 g/m2. This range provides flexibility for a variety of graphic and packaging applications where both visual quality and durability are required.

In terms of environmental performance, Sun Strong is 100% recyclable and manufactured using Elemental Chlorine Free pulp. It carries FSC and PEFC certifications and has achieved a 4-star rating in the Antalis Green Star System.

Paul Neale, product manager at Antalis UK, says, “Sun Strong is a high-quality GC2 board that performs reliably across printing and converting. By adding Sun Strong to our portfolio, we are giving printers and converters access to a board that combines strong visual quality, efficient runnability and recognised sustainability credentials, all backed by Antalis’ local availability and service.”
