AI image processing modules launched in OneVision update

OneVision releases software update 26.2, adding GPU accelerated AI image processing, expanded variable data printing, and enhanced workflow monitoring.

OneVision Software has launched version 26.2 of its print automation suite, introducing dedicated artificial intelligence modules, extended variable data printing tools, and expanded production visibility controls. Announced in Regensburg, Germany, the latest release builds on the software manufacturer’s ongoing development of automated pre-press and file preparation systems for commercial, wide format, and industrial print providers.

The update introduces a series of GPU accelerated AI Services designed to automate complex image processing tasks without requiring manual prompts or operator intervention. Key additions include AI Bleed, which automatically generates realistic edge bleed for print-ready files, AI Upscale Pro, which reconstructs image content to facilitate high-resolution enlargements, and AI Extract, which automatically isolates subject backgrounds from intricate objects. To manage compute-intensive artificial intelligence tasks without compromising server speed, the processing can be deployed on dedicated external GPU machines linked to the local OneVision infrastructure, keeping sensitive production data secure within the customer environment.

Variable data printing capabilities have also been upgraded within version 26.2 to streamline personalised print workflows and data integration. The updated suite supports direct export to PDF 1.7 standards, while the VDP Template Editor now accepts JSON input formats for file structures. These developments simplify the integration of variable data streams, allowing print operators to generate customised promotional, transactional, and packaging files more efficiently.

To enhance operational transparency, the Workspace module incorporates new monitoring and visualisation features. Production dashboards now support user-defined time-series data and configurable warning indicators for time-sensitive orders. Further workflow testing capabilities have been introduced through temporarily deactivatable assembly line connections, alongside enriched CSV job ticket metadata and flexible AI Queries configuration options.

The release is completed by functional enhancements across the Normalize pre-press software family and the Amendo AI image processing suite. Normalize receives updated scaling controls, optimised colour management, and enhanced nesting and cutting functionality. Meanwhile, Amendo AI incorporates improved metadata handling and enhanced image merging capabilities to support consistent output quality across automated digital print workflows.
