Ultima Displays invests in three new HP printers

Ultima Displays has installed new HP Latex printers in the UK and Poland, and a new HP Stitch machine in Italy.

Ultima Displays, a trade-only creative display solutions manufacturer and supplier, has invested in an HP Latex R2000 an  HP Latex FS50W and an HP Stitch S1000 to strengthen and expand its offering at its locations across Europe.

Under the management of its parent company, P3 Group, the Ultima Displays network comprises 15 businesses worldwide. These specialist business units design, manufacture, and supply a comprehensive portfolio of visual communication products, from portable display stands and lightboxes to custom modular exhibition systems. In addition to its extensive product range, the company provides a range of value-added services, including in-house design and print facilities.

With these full-service solutions, designed to ease the pressures of high volumes, tight deadlines, and variable workloads, Ultima Displays is committed to delivering high-quality service to its customers. This approach led to its recent triple investment from HP, including two new HP Latex machines and an HP Stitch device.

Ultima Displays’ business in the UK took delivery of a new HP Latex R2000 at its facility in Corby in May 2025, after finalising the investment at the 2025 FESPA Global Print Expo. The machine was purchased from and installed by approved HP partner Papergraphics.

Capable of running boards up to 2.5m wide and at speeds of up to 86sq m/hr in indoor mode, the machine runs five-litre colour cartridges and three-litre white cartridges opening up all manner of work across a host of markets.

“This was a strategic choice; it aligns with our existing setup as most of our current machines are HP, enabling streamlined reporting, consistency in quality, and a unified user interface across devices,” said Dave Bonehill, Director of Operations at Ultima Displays. “The printer allows us to more than double our rigid board printing capacity, dramatically reducing lead times, which is a critical factor in the fast-paced retail and event sectors.”

Also key for Ultima Displays were the environmental credentials of the HP Latex R2000. As with all machines in the HP Latex range, the printer runs water-based inks, which have much less impact on the environment than UV, solvent and eco-solvent inks. Add in additional features such as recyclable, cardboard-based ink cartridges, and Dave said this fits in perfectly with Ultima Displays’ long-term goals.

“With this new investment, five out of six of our print machines now use water-based technology, underscoring our commitment to sustainability,” Dave said.

The new machine is running alongside several other HP printers at Ultima’s facility. These include an HP Latex 800W, primarily used for flexible graphics, and HP Stitch S1000 and HP Stitch S500 for dye-sublimation textile printing.

Wider Growth Plans

HP Latex is also playing a major role in growth plans across the wider business at Ultima Displays. In addition to the new machine at its UK site, it has also installed an HP Latex FS60W at its facility in Gdansk, Poland, while its Italian business has recently taken on an HP Stitch S1000.

Ultima Displays Poland installed the HP Latex FS60W in June this year. The machine has a top colour printing speed of 89sq m/hr, as well as 54sq m/hr in white colour mode. It has the ability to print on media up to 3.2m wide and boasts 10-litre colour and three-litre white cartridges, all of which run HP Latex inks.

“The new HP Latex FS60W was introduced primarily to modernise our latex print capabilities with the latest technology,” said Piotr Brzoskowski, Director of Operations at Ultima Displays Poland. “Alongside this new printer, we also operate two HP Stitch S1000 dye sublimation printers and one HP Stitch S500.”

As to why Ultima Displays Poland has returned to HP Latex on several occasions, Piotr said that the technology delivers a strong combination of high-quality output, environmental safety, and production efficiency. He added that the water-based, odourless HP Latex inks are ideal for indoor applications and meet stringent sustainability standards, while with instant curing, it can finish and ship prints without delay.

“The HP Latex FS60W provides high-opacity white ink, enabling striking prints on transparent and dark media,” Brzoskowski said. “Advanced printhead technology improves sharpness and colour consistency, and its robust media handling supports smooth, high-volume production.”

Elsewhere in Europe, Ultima Displays Italy signed a deal at DemoDay HP in Sant Cugat, Barcelona, to purchase its second HP Stitch S1000 dye-sublimation machine, further supporting the company’s wider expansion plans across the continent.

Running at a maximum production speed of 220sq m/hr in two-pass mode, the HP Stitch S1000 can print on media up to 3.2 wide. The machine runs with 10-litre ink cartridges and can produce print at resolutions of up to 1200dpi.

Ultima Displays added that with HP technology already playing a major role in its expansion strategy, it could consider further investment from HP to support its longer-term growth plans in regions around the world.
