Trade Signs UK has reported improved production speeds and colour quality following the installation of an HP Latex R530 and an HP Latex 830W.
Chippenham-based Trade Signs UK has expanded its production capabilities with the installation of an HP Latex R530 and an HP Latex 830W. The trade sign solutions provider purchased the new machinery through HP reseller Perfect Colours in autumn 2025 to bolster its existing hardware line-up, which already included an HP Latex R1000.

Trade Signs UK operates as a diversified business, running brands such as EnviroSigns and PVCFREEBANNER.co.uk. The company delivers traditional sign board printing alongside environmentally friendly banners, signs, and displays.
The new HP Latex R530 offers hybrid capabilities for both rigid and flexible media. It runs at a top speed of 24sq m/hr in indoor mode and accommodates boards up to 1.6m wide and 5cm thick. The company installed the HP Latex 830W in tandem to increase roll-to-roll capacity. This unit prints at speeds up to 31sq m/hr in outdoor mode and includes white ink functionality. It supports media widths up to 1.63m and features an HP Embedded Spectrophotometer for ICC profiling.
Ben Gregory, Managing Director at Trade Signs UK, cites service and value as the core of the business model. He comments, “Turnaround time on HP print products is so much faster than any other production method.”
Gregory highlights colour accuracy as a key benefit of the investment. He notes that HP’s Pixel Control technology ensures consistency across the fleet. The team uses the spectrophotometer to create colour profiles for new media and match client files accurately. Gregory describes this capability as a “game-changer” for the business.
Operational efficiency also drove the investment. The company utilizes HP PrintOS, a cloud-based operating system, to manage and optimize production. Gregory explains that PrintOS enables the team to monitor jobs remotely, allowing for overnight printing. Operators can track ink levels and technical status without being onsite.
Sustainability remains a priority for the firm. The printers use water-based HP Latex Inks, which emit negligible volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and utilize cardboard-based packaging. Gregory states that this allows the company to offer truly sustainable options to larger brands without “greenwashing”.
Following the installation, the team utilized the HP Latex 830W for an office development project. The job required floor graphics and wall coverings spanning five 30m rolls of media. Gregory reports that the machine performed “flawlessly” throughout the process.
